ohhh ok got itHe's a crossdresser. In real-life at least, from what I read they made him only like to wear women's shoes in the movie.
It's going to be one of the biggest bombs of the year.
Who is this movie for?
Actually yes. I'm going to assume the budget for Mortal Engines was way higher.

Fuuuuuuuuuck
The fact that the ads don't elaborate on this feels pretty shameful. I had to look it up online.I've seen some trailers say that what happens to the main character was a hate crime.....in what way exactly?
i liked the doc, but the marketing for this is as if tropic thunder 2 came out and this was one of the parody films
I totally agree with this post. I saw the doc and its really good. Then I saw the trailer for this movie and i felt like it was a parody. Like they are making fun of the guy.
Yep, typical Hollywood adaptation of a genuinely compelling and heartwarming story of the human spirit making it as banal and stupid as possible. 0 interest. They bury the fuck out of the story. The event it is based on is hella inspiring and interesting
I'm amazed this doesn't get more press. The thing cost upwards of $200M with marketing and it didn't even clear $10M domestic.
Her main character is disabled but isn't she also playing a fantasy doll version of that character who isn't disabled?
I saw the commercial on TV, and was offended they used the "censored" version.I GOT GUNS IN MY HEAD AND THEY WON'T GO
SPIRITS IN MY HEAD AND THEY WON'T GO
I enjoyed the first trailer. Then I saw more and more media and it became heavily apparent that they are in no way giving this story the thought that it requires. It looks like a completely corny feel-good drama instead of a story of incredibly rehabilitation in the face of a terrible crime.
The fact that they so very obviously cast Steve Carrell as the "funny disabled dude that makes dolls" is insulting as fuck.
Not sure what the studio has as expectations but I see this about 14 million opening weekend. Not sure if that is a bomb or not but I dont think it will fare well.
Yikes. Though, admittedly, I'm glad this shitty movie was made, otherwise I might have never heard about the documentary it's based on.
jesus christ bob
i just watched Marwencol over the weekend, i'll just stick with that, it was great
Hollywood taking a story and not actually including the interesting aspects of said story/events is so typical. Plus the added thick layer of stale schmaltz, bleh.
OofBox office pro has it at $4M so that's either a typo or act of god.
From Peter Jackson, comes a film that is not based on Tolkien.I'm amazed this doesn't get more press. The thing cost upwards of $200M with marketing and it didn't even clear $10M domestic.
This movies trailer reminded me of the trailer for simple jack.......
It's been almost 20 years since Zemeckis made a legitimately good movie.
Allied was good and Flight was great. I was saying this the other day but there hasn't been anything different in the way Zemeckis makes movies. I think the audience's tastes in movies has changed.
Pretty much all I could think of when I saw trailers/commercials.This movies trailer reminded me of the trailer for simple jack.......
Edit I love how tropic thunder just gets better and better over the years
Zemeckis has had such a strange and uneven career.
Last film of his I enjoyed was Beowulf -mostly due to Silvestri's score- and even then, I remember the audience in the theater just not being into that film AT ALL, heh.
This should have been the title of the film.
