Why are Pure and Pulse being lumped into a single option in the poll? They couldn't be more different in terms of controls and feel. Has OP not played them?

Omega Collection is fantastic. I only miss the option to use custom soundtracks as in the PS3 HD/Fury, and the Zone mode tracks pulsating to your own tunes, but other than that is a perfect send-off if we don't get another one

While I'm a big fan of 2048, probably HD/Fury is the most complete (sans Omega, the best game ever).
Since both omega and HD are technically remakes, my list would be:
- 2097: great gameplay, insane speed, replayability and style. Spilskinanke perfect runs are my most treasured memories.
- 2048: Sublimation of wipeout if you ask me, maybe the most polished and varied yet.
- Pulse: simply put, the one that differentiated wipeout from a "f-zero clone" to its own thing.

HD Fury by far. I can't go back to the 30fps games on the PS1.

HD/Fury is definitely the best overall package. Graphics, smooth as molasses, sound, network play, Zone Mode, etc. etc. Even the way the music (even your custom playlist) you were playing changed the way the tracks pulsated/lit up -- a feature unique to PS3 since PS4 has no custom music integration.

But GOAT Wipeout trailer is 2048 -- it just doesn't get better than this:

i want to vote pure/pulse because HD is nothing without them... except fury was incredible. obviously omega collection is the best overall package.

2097 gets my vote for "best at time of release" though.

Why have you put 64 with the others? It deserves its own separate option.

Nostalgia brings me instantly to the original but I think 2097 was the game I enjoyed most.

I love them all, including the N64 version (which, long gone now, many years ago I made a semi-complete hd texture pack for use in Project 64).

I'm sure if it needed a Kickstarter to get made, it would hit every target and then some. Would love to see a brand new entry.

My real answer is HD/Fury but WipEout Pure should be up there. If anything HD and Fury are updates of it and Pulse.

Pure especially massively showed off the PSP and it got a tonne of free DLC.

Fantastic game.

I also love 2097, 3 and 3SE so this is a tough poll to vote in.

I guess 2097 is the most influential?

Isn't 64 just a 2097 port with few extra tracks?

Already happened (at least close enough) with Formula Fusion/Pacer -- met targets, but support wasn't exactly "through the roof". For a proper response, it would somehow have to carry the old brand or somehow be supported by Sony themselves, I think, to kind of officiate that core Liverpool members are involved.

Also, I think it highlights just how important the conceptual design, artwork, sountracks, etc. (which Sony faciliated/paid for/generally brings together) are actually essential to the game.

Speaking of Wipeout 64, how did that ever get made in the first place, wasn't Psygnosis owned by Sony at that time? It's such an odd one out.

At least Fusion isn't many people's favourite. Something about that one rubbed me the wrong way.

Omega Collection. (I also love the retro cardboard sleeve on the physical release).

2048 was also quite special on the Vita. And of course it's hard to compete with nostalgia for the first game on PS1 - it was such a special game at the time with one of the true classics in terms of soundtrack.

Frustrating that Omega collection isn't included in the poll because of perceived poor sales. It's the best by far since it includes a couple of them AND has VR support, which is a way to experience WipEout I wasn't sure I would ever get. It's fantastic!

I remember the tracks being either mirrored and/or altered. Whether that was for design purposes to run on the N64 (the frame rate wasn't great as it was) who knows.

I think it also added team specific weapons, eliminations and the whole medal system if I remember right.

Was it also the first game to do split screen multiplayer?
