lmaoo Guys Ucharted TLL is AAA period. just stop arguing.
What we should be amazed about is how quickly they made that game and it was very good(1 year), compared to all the lackluster games we've seen from other studios, that took 3 times the time to make.

Ill be playing TLL again this weekend, I need one more trophy to platinum it. That trailer just gave me that itch again. LOL Naughty Dog are top tier out here man.

The lack of Sony news has driven this thread into insanity for the past 4 months.

Did you bother reading what I said? As a DLC, the game is fantastic. If it was a straight new AAA as some claim, it would have gotten butchered rightfully so because it was the exact same game.

The overdone praising on era around the lost legacy is hilarious. You would think we're talking about a GOTG contender sometimes when reading this. Far worse characters, story, locations, and the best set piece is not an improved version of something that was iconic in Uncharted 2. I still don't get what made them think one of the most boring characters in the entire series Nadine should be a main character in the next game.

The gameplay is the fucking same lmao.. and what etc? It has nothing else other than pacing. It was a great, fun DLC. Stop trying to make it to be anything more than that.

The crazy thing about this is, no matter what you typed here, Uncharted TLL is a fantastic game, Its AAA, and its probably better than more than half of the games you played this gen. LOL

We have to wait for the PS5 first imho. And I don't know, but I have that feeling that the next Ueda game will be a multiplatform title.

I have that feeling too

They hadnt picked a publisher last we heard (and Ueda has said they got multiple offers right after TLG shipped), but did take money from the Kowloon Nights fund for the initial stages of development. Kowloon's model is that they offer funding, but not publishing, so the devs can either publish themselves or still arrange publishing deals outside of this relationship (but ones where they have more leverage since they already got some funding figured it out). They will choose other partner(s) after development picks up in order to ship it, but this kind of move doesnt match with the traditional way SIE publishes titles, by fully funding and owning the products they publish.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ueda just bristled at the way Sony operates nowadays. While a lot of people give Sony credit for treating its devs very well (and it seems to be warranted), Ueda also spent an extremely, extremely, extremely long time on TLG for not exactly a high return. I always got the feeling Ueda would buckle under the expectations of keeping up with AAA development so I wouldn't be surprised if he just decided to go with a smaller publisher and a smaller project for his next game rather than trying to blow the world up with a concept again.

Ahh the Death Stranding song and dance...
Its been two days of silence so about time.

Also this UC LL argument is literally the dumbest and most whatever argument I've seen since Era launched.

Yep. They got some funding already and nothing points towards another SIE JS collaboration. Well, let's see. But I doubt it.

If Uncharted the Lost Legacy was treated like a sequel to a AAA game, the game itself would not have gotten anywhere near those scores. Same as Left Behind which if treated like a sequel AAA, would have fared far worse. I said as a stand alone big game, this game doesn't have enough improvements and would get crucified if it was treated like a proper sequel. I don't know how on earth this is a controversial statement or why it annoys people who love the game on here. There are so many long, long topics on here, a while back on gaf and thousands of reviews that pile on AAA sequels that don't improve enough to diversify itself from its previous iteration. The Witcher DLC for example I absolutely love. It also didn't improve much and if those DLCs were standalone sequels, they too would not either a) get anywhere the scores they got, or b) get the praise they deserve. And Uncharted TLL does deserve its praise for the $40 great addition to Uncharted 4 that it is. All of these 4 additions to the main games were great and fun as hell to play. Put those as standalones, and this is another story. It's baffling you guys are so defensive about this.

It isn't an opinion that sequels that don't heavily improve don't get amazing scores or adoration compared to DLCs/extensions on games that don't do that much improvement but give you a lot of what you loved from the main game. It's a fact.

I haven't played any of the additons and agree with you overall but what's the reason in creating a "what if" case? It's been clear to most people that it isn't Uncharted 5.

so throwing away hundreds of millions, if not billions... for a few VR games? this lacks any kind of business sense.
Oh, I don't think it would make sense to buy Insomniac if they cost a billion dollars. But the value of Insomniac isn't just the fact that they developp Spider-Man and even if it was, it would be better for everyone if they were a first party studio (because Sony could help them to grow more, as they did with their first party studios).

They're still making new ones though that one company could have closed due to a number of reasons. Has anyone at Sony expressed this?
Oh, really? We will have more Playlink games? I haven't seen that. I really loved those games.

The lack of Sony news has driven this thread into insanity for the past 4 months.
The past 4 months included 2 State of Plays and one huge DS trailer with release date announcement. Not Sony's fault that Era doesn't care for anything but TLOU2.
And as another user already pointed out, ironically you were the main contributor to said insanity.

Erika is a Playlink game. Problem with these games is that they aren't visible on the PS Store. There's no subsection for them.

The Yakuza event pretty much confirmed that Sony will not have an press conference at TGS this year. (Might be completely wrong too :p)
honestly that is what it seemed like to me, why reveal the new yakuza game at a personal event instead of sony's TGS? they revealed Judge Eyes in sony's TGS (back then it was called project Judge in the west) press conference and it worked well.
would be pretty disappointing if sony skips TGS, its not like it has ever been a first party focused show anyway, also does that mean all the ape escape stuff were really for nothing?

So, then these are the burning issues with the world of playstation currently:

1. Is DS playstation exclusive?
2. Will TLOU2 beat Spider man in sales?
3. Sony bought Insomniac yet?
4. Uncharted: TLL is AAA?
For the last one, watch the launch trailer again to refresh the memory:

I was trying to be sarcastic, looks like I failed miserably :D
Its all ND's fault. First they created Uncharted: TLL and then no news on TLOU2 :)

Oh it's true, but it was announced long time ago. They haven't announced any new PlayLink game since last year, right?

I don't know what is the problem, but it's really sad, because PlayLink has some of the best local multiplayer games released this generation.

The thing with Ueda and Gen:Design is that they are not a studio that can put out a game by themselves. It's a tiny idea and concept house that would need to team up with a full dev team.

point #3 is exactly why i laugh at people angry at sony not acquiring isnomniac, whats the point if they are already practically contracted to you for 6 years.
start talking about insomniac acquisition after spider-man 3 launches ;p

Obviously a aquasition would strengthen PS first party output. But we're getting Spider-Man 2 and 3 regardless so it's not like if Sony doesn't acquire insom, we might lose out. Spider-Man Broke every internal record @ insom they're locked in regardless.
