Really? This might be the most insane take I've ever seen on ResetEra.

Anyway, if orchestral music is fitting for a game, yes. Absolutely. More please. Video games are helping to keep orchestras and big bands alive and I love it.
Doom Eternal? No. They need to be utilizing more hard rock.
We need more rock soundtracks.
When was the last western video game with a metal OST (not just licensed songs)?

Oh damn, yeah, forgot about Mick Gordon.Scourgebringer, Wolfenstein, Double Kick Heroes and Doom are pretty heavy on the metal.
Still need more though, I agree.

He's doing god's work.
I think this is a good thread to convince music fans to put aside your grievances and unite against the true enemy of video game soundtracks: dubstep arrangements. Make Tekken listenable again, please.
Some tense, bombastic story missions might do well with an orchestrated track, though. The whole thing definitely shouldn't, but sprinkled about would be okay.Orchestrated soundtrack makes sense in specific settings. I don't think GTA VI should have an orchestrated OST :p
Orchestra isn't limited to western classical.
Really?
THIS is the thing that crossed the line for you on ResetERA?....
Anyway, orchestra music isn't always necessary. Media in general should aspire to a diversity in music styles.
High-five for the pushback from the person with a Schubertian username.
Don't blanket statement. I love me some hip-hop.
Yep, this.
I haven't forgotten about the new Ratchet & Clank games :'(
Mortal Kombat 11 announcement trailer thread comes to mindI've never felt this sentiment on Era. How did you come to that?
Just take note of any thread discussing anyone relating to hip-hop is associated to video games. Like the MK11 announcement thread, or the semi-recent Travis Scott PS5 threads.I've never felt this sentiment on Era. How did you come to that?
With the exception of the black users on here, this board has led me to believe otherwise.
