Gorsuch is about a good a justice today's Republican party could have nominated. I'm so glad that Trump was dumb enough to nominate him.
Almost certainly Clarence was one of the dissenters.
Gorsuch and Kavanagh both going against Trump would be karma of the highest order.
Also this ruling that came right after. States can issue criminal grand jury subpoenas on Trump / President.

That Trump and his lawyers really tried to argue presidential immunity was the dumbest shit ever. No one is above the law, not even the president. Should have been 9-0 sweep.
Good. Was expecting them to rule against him 5-4; 7-2 is a sweet deal. This entire "presidential immunity" defense seemed extremely flimsy - SC would have crowned him King if they let this slide. He needs to be taken down deliberately and slowly until the final blow on election day.

The concept of Executive Immunity to criminal proceedings is effectively dead now.
To give Trump absolute credit (and the decision probably wasn't up to him.) Gorsuch wasn't super ultra far right. He was certainly more moderate than Scalia, and he was basically the right-wing version of Merrick Garland. Kavanaugh was the bigger issue.
