Not really surprising - luckily I only want the raster performance myself.Minecraft RTX results in Linus' video are shockingly bad. As suspected all along, AMD was hiding their RT performance because its really low.

Not really impressed by the performance of 6800 XT if this test result is indicative of the overall performance discrepancy to RTX 3070 / RTX 3080.
Control Raytracing. "RT Aus" is off, "RT Ein" is on. Taken from here: https://www.computerbase.de/2020-11...t/3/#diagramm-control-raytracing-in-2560-1440

It's not, Control (besides stuff like Minecraft RTX) is basically a worst case scenario w.r.t. Raytracing -- OTOH, it's also one of the few titles which actually extensively use Raytracing for more than a few reflections here and there. But overall, the 6800 XT is definitely quite a bit worse at Raytracing than the 3080, while being more or less on par (1440p, 1080p) or slightly ahead (4K) otherwise. Not really impressed by the performance of 6800 XT if this test result is indicative of the overall performance discrepancy to RTX 3070 / RTX 3080.

Such a confusing graph. Should've just skipped the RT AUS part of the graph. You can always make another graph to showcase how much each card loses.

Doesn't bode well for the new consoles. We're never gonna see 60fps+RT on series X or PS5
I mean, the colours are also different, so that helps 😉Such a confusing graph. Should've just skipped the RT AUS part of the graph. You can always make another graph to showcase how much each card loses.

No
I refreshed and everything was sold out.
You were expecting 60fps path-tracing on the consoles?
People really have wild expectations for these things, even though we knew a month or so out that RT performance would roughly lag one generation behind nVidia.
I dont know what some of y'all smoking. These are impressive results for first gen AMD raytracing.
At sub 1080p in Minecraft....kinda. These results are disappointing to say the least, I mean we're getting below 2060 performance in some cases (without the inclusion of DLSS). that card has been available almost 2 years.
Are they though? I would have thought the 6800 XT would have been around 2080 Ti RT performance.I dont know what some of y'all smoking. These are impressive results for first gen AMD raytracing.
Rasterization performance is seriously great. Quite disappointing to see that RT is significantly behind cards that are over 2 years old. Hopefully with AMD having RT in the new consoles this will improve in new games and with driver updates.
it is impressive for sure, but its competing with ampere gpus , is it not? While context matters always , the end result is the deciding factor for making purchasing decisionI dont know what some of y'all smoking. These are impressive results for first gen AMD raytracing.
it is though? 35 vs 39fps, thats "around" the 2080tiAre they though? I would have thought the 6800 XT would have been around 2080 Ti RT performance.
Yes it was documented in their press driver known issues that it's broken in Legion.
Yep should have been 80-100 under, games like Cyberpunk will sell the 3080/3070 for the RT performance and $50 just isn't enough to give that up.For just 50$ under 3080 MSRP, why would I even wanna buy a 6800XT when its worse in everything and 6800xt prices are already rising....
And fearing about AMD drivers.
Tech jesus has spoken. RT ain't even close and Nvidia cards are recommended for 4k.
Just like all the people here knew would happen.
Absolutely nobody thought this did they?Yeah, it was fun to see people lose their shit thinking this thing was going to clown the 3080 in RT and 4K. It was never feasible.
Fair enough, I'll concede a 10% difference as around.
But no, RT performance on this is not freakin below a 2060, its ~4x that of a 2080Ti minimum
