I'm convinced Putin wanted Trump in office, specifically so he can do what he wants with Ukraine. Hell, it was part of the GOP platform at the convention two years ago. Shit is scary. I wonder if he's being so aggressive now with Ukraine because it looks like movement is being made on the Mueller-Russia investigation and Trump's power has been neutered to a degree with the Dems taking the house.

How will Russia react to this? Will they "need to protect Russians" soon? Looks like a roadmap to escalation...
Russia will definitely say it's an escalation but I think it's a necessary precaution. Ukraine will find it difficult enough dealing with Russia on the front line nevermind if there are little green men disrupting the supply lines.
Is the European side doing anything to alleviate the effects of blockade?
Seems like something that should be done. I wouldn't mind seeing some NATO build up in Poland either. The message has to be sent that further incursions are unacceptable.
