with every bump I get excited and hope footage is out

I wonder if we only see a Prophet, or if we will see other Covies as well

I have to wonder how much you have to really enjoy the cutscenes in Halo to look forward to this. Playing through the collection, I found myself growing pretty uninterested in the plot, even if the games got wordier and wordier as entries went by.

i look forward to this because there of other high quality extended media in the Halo universe. The Eric Nylund books and the Hunt the Truth mini-series, for example, are phenomenal, and tell much better stories than can be stuffed into a 6hr FPS campaign. If that level of quality transfers to this TV series, we could be in for a treat.

I always thought X021 would be a great place to show the first trailer.

By then the entire season should have been shot (or is it done? Didn't keep up with it), it'd the 20th anniversary of Xbox and Halo and it'd be about 6 months before it releases on Paramount+.

Then again this E3 showcase is also a great place for it, but I'd love it if E3 was all about games. X0 could be a celebration of everything, not just the games.

dont think thats smart. That will be confusing for the masses. I think comic con makes more sense for this.
I mean, lights go down, trailer plays, end card reads "Halo, coming to Showtime Paramount+" with a "based on the hit franchise" title on top somewhere, that's all you need. No confusion!

Looking fantastic even for blurry leaks. Don't really know Halo lore as I haven't played one since the first but I'm always down for big budget sci-fi and Paramount has proven they can stretch a budget with Star trek

I have looking forward to this show since 2013 when it was announced. I hope it is at least watchable. Those screens actually look pretty nice.

Paramount Plus? Nintendo and Capcom (Castlevania) went with Netflix and Sony went with HBO, why MS going off-brand with their biggest franchise?

What kind of budget are they working with?
Don't think an actual Halo tv show can work unless we are talking about a budget at least on the same level of MCU and Star Wars D+ type budgets.

Need this trailer in 4K asap. Screenshots seem promising?? Tough to make out the details in a lot of these though

I think it's reasonable to think Paramount+ has more adoptability potential than Showtime. Plus Paramount+ has had subscription deals which I took advantage of. Works out great since it has all the shows my daughter loves(and my inner child).

Still disappointed this isn't canon.
If it's meant to be reboot for everybody, it'd be best to be a Fall of Reach adaptation.

Wonder if they'll have their first encounter with a Halo in season 1 or if we'll have have the entire first season without the thing the series is named for.
Wonder if that armor will find its way into Infinite since it's not a one to one match with any existing armor.

It's good know that the extended media surrounding the franchise might provide better inspiration for the series than the main games.

But it's not like the series can stray much from the source material. I mean, they might have a lot of freedom to do things their way, but it's still going to be a story about the dude and the weirdly bodacious AI running out of time to destroy or activate a Halo.

Nah, the show is about the Human-Covenant war, Which lasted over 25 years. They show could even potentially touch on things that happened before this conflict. The Halo trilogy you're referencing only covers the last year of the conflict. there were also things going on between, or in parallel with the games. I strongly doubt they are just going to retell Halo 1-3.

i would say that the main games have inspired stories that exceed those told in the games themselves - in part because they aren't bound by needing to write around a gameplay experience.

hopefully the TV series is another example.
