So basically you have a vested interest in him not revealing anything that rock the boat?
Not really, its just his video seems a bit over hyped and based on speculative hearsay

Same. Trading in my PRO for a 5 is the only thing GS is really good for in 2020.if true, nooooooooooo
I needed them to survive until the PS5 launch....
I have trade credit + console trade in to do...
He made a video about it.... lolSorry dude but please point to a source that he got sued by GameStop. Don't just make shit up because you don't like the guy. That's so lame.
He's doing good work by exposing this shitty ass company.
Never, ever preorder video games from anyone. Corporations do not need your interest free loans.
Can't believe the Resident evil 3 collectors edition is a GameStop exclusive...
I like that people blame GameStop's approach here. Look they've hurt themselves a lot, but the fact of the matter is, regardless of how good they were at managing it, physical media and b&m locations are a dying breed. Digital sales have basically caught up with physical sales. It's not just digital though, Amazon is just as good and arguably more convenient than GameStop. There's just no reason for having these stores everywhere and every year there is less and less foot traffic for various reasons. This was inevitable unfortunately regardless of how the company was run
I'm wondering who was in charge of site locations for GameStop for them to have multiple GameStops within a close area of each other.
Pity as I don't shop at that location anymore...GS must have some sort of contract with Capcom

I don't buy it, if something this big was happening I'd think it would be already reported by some bigger media and not someone on YouTube.
Third Quarter Results
GameStop's third quarter total global sales decreased 25.7% (24.7% in constant currency) to $1.4 billion, driven by a consolidated comparable store sales decrease of 23.2%.
- New hardware sales decreased 45.8%, reflecting anticipated next generation console launches in 2020.
- New software sales decreased 32.6%, with growth in Nintendo Switch software titles more than offset by weaker title launches across other consoles in the quarter compared to last year.
- Accessories sales decreased 13.4%.
- Pre-owned sales declined 13.3% with declines in hardware and software.
- Collectibles sales increased 4.3%, with continued growth in both domestic and international stores.
GameStop's third quarter GAAP net loss was ($83.4) million, or ($1.02) per diluted share, compared to net loss of ($488.6) million, or ($4.78) per diluted share, in the prior-year quarter, which included the Spring Mobile business. Third quarter fiscal 2019 results include charges of $43.0 million, or $0.52 per diluted share, which included non-cash asset impairment charges, tax adjustments, transformation costs and other items. Third quarter fiscal 2018 results included non-operating, non-cash intangible asset impairment charges of $587.5 million, primarily related to goodwill.Excluding the $43.0 million of impairment charges and other items, GameStop's adjusted net loss from continuing operations for the third quarter was ($40.2) million or ($0.49) per diluted share, compared to net income from continuing operations of $50.0 million, or $0.49 per diluted share, in the prior-year quarter.A reconciliation of non-GAAP results, including adjusted net income (loss) from continuing operations and adjusted operating earnings from continuing operations, to its most directly comparable GAAP financial measure is included with this release (Schedule III).
I used to have six Gamestops within a half-hour or so of where I live. Now there's like, two.Is it still a rumor if they are closing stores? There's 3/5 of my local stores are closing.
This is my guess. But it still doesn't solve the underlying problem. A large portion of their customer base has gone digital for software, and they can't make up for that on hardware sales alone. And filling the stores with keychains and Funko shit hasn't made up the difference, either. My guess is that they're banking on next gen console wave/ holiday season to give them that surge in business to at least hold out for as long as possible after then....if they can survive that long that is.
That's a good point. I've definitely gotten the impression that it's a matter of when more than if at this point. This is my guess. But it still doesn't solve the underlying problem. Wouldn't a publicly traded company need to report something like mass closures to their shareholders?

You like who freaking cares if people pre order or trade in games? I still have PTSD from someone getting into my EBay/PayPal account years ago I'm not comfortable selling stuff myself.Nah I will continue to preorder. Doesn't cost me anything from Amazon.
I don't agree he's been more right than wrong. I think your completely overreacting to him. This dude's content should be banned from Era. He's a disgruntled former employee who has done nothing but spread BS since they let him go. More than half of the shit he says is made up. What he's claiming in this video isn't even company policy on how store closures work -- as many have already pointed out. The reason he continues to post content like this is because it's the only way his channel gets views. Look at the rest of his content that isn't making up claims about his former employer and it's all irrelevant view counts. Dude needs to grow up and move on.
Well, shit. I want to preorder the RE3 CE, but I know that my local store is pretty low volume and probably at high risk of closure. I don't have the time to get to any of the busier locations near me in the next day or two.
I got the RE2 one in-store.

True story : as a kid I lost 50$ for my Ocarina of Time pre-order because Adventure Electronics went out of business.
If they dont want to try to compete with other B&M stores or amazon and other online stores they deserve to have the company emplode on itself.

They don't charge until it ships. That's what it says on the site. 😦Seeing this right below the RE3 CE preorder thread gives me stress, and I'm not even planning on preordering it. Just makes me feel for those who have money tied up with them in case any of this comes true. :(
Since I have no other choice, I decided to take a chance and preorder it at my local store. I really hope they don't get shuttered. You know, you're right. My bad, I had mistaken it with something else. I DID get mine from in store as well. RE7 for sure was online-only though.
EDIT: Just saw a Tweet saying it's available for in-store pre-order right now (just not online yet).
I'm sure they'll be around for the next gen launch in some capacity. Those are always profitable times for retail stores. In the UK GAME was recently bought out by an infamous businessman who has repeatedly bought high street chains on the verge of collapse for a bargain, milked them for whatever he can, and then moved on. GAME has been circling the drain here for a decade now, couldn't have made it to late 2020 alone, but there's always some dodgy businessman waiting to pounce. Next gen hardware launch isn't an opportunity to be missed, even in the worst case scenario like the UK has. It's from 2021 onwards that we might start seeing complete collapse with no bidders.Keep a close eye on this, I don't have anything preordered, just have $300 for my PS5 on GameStop credit. As long as that's safe I'm ok...Just need to stick around for another year
What? He has contacts within corporate for Gamestop that collaborate what's he's saying. From other store managers and people who worked in the warehouse. He's been right more than he's been wrong. I'm interested for your report back to see if he's right again or not.
