The second liberals as a whole care about transpeople on a level beyond being another vote they can use is the day I stop complaining about them. Til then? Nah.
Why are you singling out liberals or people with progressive left wing leaning? Honest question.

I think that we all agree that conservative right wing leaning which is the alternative either in the US or literally anywhere is worse, isn't it? And honestly, what you are asking for is literally impossible. Why? Because you don't get progressive voices to agree in every single thing, let alone convincing liberals of that. As long as we keep the infighting, things will keep getting worse.
We're tearing ourselves apart because we have leaders that do it. Speaking up against them isn't the issue, its their behavior. Rose specifically has had moments where she excludes transwomen. Sure its good for ciswomen if we allow them to do their thing alone but then we're left behind because they aren't being taken to task.
Our "leaders" get there because of propaganda. The propaganda that elected Trump got people that are against LGBTQ+ rights, against abortion laws, against immigration, against "outrage culture", freaking religious nuts, pro gun people AND shit like 4chan, Milo and nazis all together rallying for Trump. I know that we are living in this world and it's hard sometimes to step back and see the big picture, but this conservative wave is hitting us hard and not just in the United States mind you because despite the fact that they are weak and not even the majority, we waste our time fighting each other. They are united. We are not. I don't need the woman that lashed out on Rose to be a perfect ally. I don't need Rose to be a perfect ally. We all need to understand that as long as we keep finding reasons to divide ourselves, things will keep getting worse. There are powerful forces at play that are figuring out ways to fuck us over again and again, and this isn't just an United States issue. It's endemic across the globe. We either stick together or we lose. It's do or die, and it's not just the fate of the United States that is at risk.
Black people have been saying republicans were the devil since Reagan. And it's not because we're __divided__ it's because white americans are largely okay with racism until the racism is publicly tacky, a la trump
Not really sure how you can call the GOP "united" and "getting even more stronger" when Trump's approvals continue to drop and Repubs are bailing on Congress left and right. They have good whips is all
You two are thinking in terms of GOP, and I'm thinking in terms of conservative thinking as a whole becoming a new trend not just in the US, but every fucking where. Yes, the conservative wave is growing stronger. And yes, they have SEVERAL disagreements among each other. And yet, they still rally behind one common goal, which is, get people with conservative thinking that will fuck minorities over and over. And that's done through propaganda. Meanwhile, we, the "clever and progressive minds" keep fighting among ourselves. Which reminds me something I've saw on twitter the other day:
They get there because propaganda channels their hate and phobia against minorities into power. Meanwhile, we fight among ourselves. And I wish there was a place that this isn't happening, that conservative waves was an isolated USA issue because at the very least we'd know it's a fluke and have hopes that eventually things would get better. When you step back and see the rise of extreme right wing leaning parties literally across the globe, you know that something is up. We can beat them, but as long as we keep fighting among ourselves, we are screwed.
Access to more information doesn't mean much if its goal - by algorithmic design - is to divide groups into echo chambers.
The first mass TV broadcast was pioneered by the Nazis in 1936. The point is we clearly haven't evolved much in our ability to critically process media. An entire social ecosystem of millions live exclusively inside Fox News.
But my last self-reflection on this topic is that it's easy to get nihilistic, as I have been lately. It's immensely frustrating that like minded people can't get behind the giant common goal of defeating the orange sociopath.
I miss the days of when this is how leaders responded to heckling:
And I'm sorry for somewhat derailing the thread, but this post gets it and that's what I'm talking about. Social media is fucking us up. We all want the same thing, but we don't seem willing to understand that taking out each other down will do us no favors, and when we realize, Trump was just the beginning of something way, WAY worse. Which frustrates me to no end.
