I wish Nintendo would actually allow characters stories like this in the series itself but Skyward Sword is the closest we got and people whined it had too much story so... oh well. The manga is non-canon, of course. But it's nice they went there.
i assumed they meant between zelda and midna because the two go way further back in the manga

Game had 3 characters you could take for a mission, clearly we need one more Midna so we can have a full team of Midna for the best ideal experience.
