The camera was a huge step up from the one in Mario 64. The problem with it is that it trusted the player too much and did not provide any alternative camera options.
it definitely got stuck way more often in the aforementioned parts.
During those parts you are supposed to hard press the L trigger to re focus the camera behind Mario and zoom out with the C stick but like with much of the game it really never explains this to the player.
I would also be ashamed of Sunshine if I was Nintendo. The game is seriously sonic team adventure levels of jank and awful game design.
Also Koizumi perfected everything that game wanted to do in terms of story and open levels in Odyssey, so why go back.
I dunno where the 2012 date comes from, but personally I recognized it as an all time great the first time I played it
i hated this level so much that i had it as my pc background for weeks. Just to reminder myself of all the damage this part of the game did to me
