I'm actually surprised he didn't just excuse this by saying, "Yes, that comedian is a racist who talked shit about Puerto Ricans and I don't like him, but I'm supporting Trump because I think he's the best for the economy." Also, Trump went on Hannity and in typical fashion claimed he had no idea who the comedian was, hadn't heard of him and "[didn't] want to hear of him." There's the out Trump-supporting Puerto Ricans need. "Trump didn't even know that guy."

There's still time for Nicky to pivot once again, I guess.

I think what makes it hard for him to defend it is I'm sure part of his image as a musician is built on machismo, and how do you credibly excuse a direct insult like that to your peers and fans without people questioning your pride, your loyalty, and even your masculinity? "Wow he called you and your family and your country garbage and you're just gonna accept it and make excuses for it like a little lap dog?"

Again, it's probably why this thing has broken through so much and why people were demanding an apology (which Trump never gave, and would have given defenders an "out") - it's an insult to pride, which sometimes runs deeper than policy views. And it's exactly the kind of thing that could sway the mind of an "undecided" voter who wasn't paying much attention to the candidates or policy discussions but absolutely knows when they're being insulted personally.

50 Cent was offered $3M to be at the MSG event and turned it down. I'm sure this guy got $80k or something for his endorsement. When he said trump is good for the economy he meant on a personal level.

Better late than never I suppose. Whichever red flag in the forest of red flags actually got your attention, I support it.

Agreed. I'm shocked of all things that a comedians bad joke is what woke a whole bunch of people up, but whatever. I'll take it.
What's even weirder is how much Trump and Co. have said the same things multiple times in just slightly different ways as that comedian. And have actually directly hurt people who live in Puerto Rico multiple times and made their lives worse when he was president.

I don't understand why that was the thing that did it either but I pray it causes him to lose.

It's the fact that it was a direct clear cut insult with no room for interpretation. A lot of people who support Trump give simply ignore a bunch of the dog whistling and even the more "direct" stuff if it has any wiggle room for them to justify. We all know Trump is a racist POS but if there was a clear instance of Trump having some sort of meltdown and just letting a full blown, hard ER, N word fly, it would probably be the one thing he couldn't recover from.

I understand that Trump thought he was a woman, but can we not intentionally misgender someone for a joke?
There's a difference between "intentionally misgendering someone for a joke" and "making a joke, using the wrong gender, at the expense of somebody who misgendered somebody else", no?

I don't see how the poster was doing anything different than all the other comments in this thread that are laughing about the "she's hot" comment. It's poking fun at Trump's ignorance -- in this case, the ignorance involved misgendering -- and wollywinka's comment is a joke version of that same sentiment.

As stupid as this guy clearly is for suddenly realizing Trump is a piece of shit to literally anybody that's not white (Actually, anyone whose against him really)...

I'm going to take the positive route here and hope that the MSG rally is actually making some difference in people's votes to turn away from Trump. It sounds like it is. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little upset/exasperated with people that the MSG rally is somehow the thing that finally made them realize that, but hey, better late than never in this instance. Hopefully they realize how awful he always has been and it's not just aimed towards him, because I'm very afraid that this is what the GOP is going to be for a long while due, even after his death, and I don't want people to somehow think that it's only bad because it's said by him.

As someone above said, better late than never. But man, people like this need to stop being so fucking dumb about this shit. Trump and the entire right wing hate anyone that isn't white and hetero. Hell, they even hate white hetero women enough to take their rights away. They'll look for useful idiots to get support, but when it comes down to it, they see you all as lesser than white men and will ALWAYS throw you to the side when they're done with you. There's no "one of the good ones", they don't care, they will fuck you all over. How people don't realise this after we saw Trump throw Pence to the wolves when it suited him is, frankly, unreal.
Better late than never, but this guy was still fine with Trump and his cronies demonising Haitians as pet eating monsters, demonising trans people, demonising women who don't have kids, demonising the poor...and all because Nicky is rich enough to see the benefit from a tax cut for other rich banned words. Nicky Jam is still a first class piece of shit...but at least he finally did the bare minimum in terms of decency, I guess?

I really have no idea how any PR could still support Trump after this nonsense. And yet I'm still seeing it. I just hope this is enough to wake more than just a few people up that they are not wanted.
