Shiiiiit I just hope the adapter/app doesn't block someone lower than a turning card. These other GTX cards can run many VR games fine... but this is a 4K headset, so might have to lower the resolution or depend on upscaling solution (which isn't usually recommended for VR, but games offer it).

Edit- but WAIT.. yesh yeah a 970 card is pushing it.

Does Doom VFR work with it? I had trouble getting the controllers to work over Virtual Desktop with the Quest 3 :/

I think the PSVR2 app is pretty much only there as a driver and controller pairing tool. Kknd pf like the Oculus app on PC is fof Zoculus headsets.

Theoretically, anything that works with other PCVR headsets should work.

The headset works very well and the adapter is not actually mandatory if you have a gpu that supports virtuallink, like the rx 6000 series or rtx 20 series. the controller tracking is surprisingly good despite what I heard from earlier reviews and the output from the HMD is gorgeous

Also, I don't understand that Display Port part from the OT, that seems complicated as fuck. I can't simply connect it via USB or HDMI to this adapter? Then what is this adapter even for if it doesn't that simplicity? So my 4090 seems to have 3 display ports as far as I can see and an HDMI that I use.

How do you even connect everything? Is that Box not USB? What exactly goes into the Box? The headset? And then the box with USB to the PC? Then how comes the display port into play and what goes into what and why do I need another cable on top that this 60 euro purchase does not even include?

Yep, just had a quick check and mine does not in fact have USC C out.

My own fault for getting a smaller one all those years ago. Oh well!

Just need this thing on sale in the EU now please! (Still unbelievable that it was 350 US and UK only…)

I don't get it, what makes this a recent revelation? I have a 2080ti and I could've been using it on my PC this whole time?

No, at launch they specifically made decisions that prevented it being used on PC. They're recently updated the firmware to enable PC use and provided drivers which came out about 5 hours ago.

It's in the OP, it's required for power, video, and I/O.

Many of us expected this to cost more, considering the price of the homebrew attempts and Sony's general premium pricing. This is pretty tame.

What are you struggling with? It needs a display port and cable. The adapter is FOR display port to work. You need a display port cable and the rest is doing with what comes with the adapter and Bluetooth.

It's pretty simple. Your so hostile in threads but if you actually thought about it and read the website that explains then you would understand.

truly an impossible mystery to solve. how will we over plug one thing into a second thing into a third thing. we will simply never know.

So the USB of the adapter goes into the PC, and a Display port cable also goes into the PC into the GPU and into the Adapter? That confuses me a bit. And the Headset goes into the box?

I don't think it's too unfair to criticize that the 60 bucks box doesn't even come with a display cable. You normally always get a cable with your stuff. I don't use Display port so I need to buy an extra one.

Is one of these alright or what do I have to look out for? It has to be DP 1.4 and then I'm good?

3rd party adapters normally cost ~150 bucks..
And yes, DP 1.4 is enough.

Preparing for this finally made me realize that my Bluetooth setup had been totally fucked for years. All this time, I had both the onboard BT (which I didn't even know I had) and a dongle active. No wonder I had such a bad time with my BT devices in the past...
Now I have disabled my onboard BT and it works like a charm. The PSVR2 adapter is already worth it.

I also realized that I will finally be able to play Eleven Table Tennis. I was waiting for a PSVR2 port since day one.

What are the best review videos for this so far?
Will it be relatively easy to set most games to the native resolution of the headset and now where it can be essentially used as a PC headset, how does it stand in comparison to the other PC headsets?

Thanks for posting this, came in handy. I might be going back and forth since there's still a chance for iVRy to get HDR at least (iirc), but for now the Sony drivers are working great.

Also, I'm trying this on a laptop (ASUS ROG with an nvidia 3060) with a USB-C to DP adapter plugged into a third-party Varjo Virtuallink adapter, and are all working fine with the Sony drivers.

So I had one of these thingies lying around, connected it between my 4080 GPU and PSVR2 headset... it works! 😜

The first scene you see after setting it all up is some Valve virtual living room, and it is beautiful. The image is extremely crisp and bursting with color. One problem though in my brief testing phase. Windows and the Sony VR app detect my two VR Sense controllers just fine, but the required Steam VR app recognized only one of them being on at first, and now it doesn't see either one of them. I have a 5.0 BT adapter from some years ago, but maybe it isn't fully compatible. I need to test it more.

Until that's resolved for VR controller games, I'll be playing some VR Pinball, platformers, 3rd person action titles and stuff like that. The visual tech itself is awesome.

Congrats 😁.... where do you have the BT adapter connected to? USB3.0 port? If so try connecting it to a USB 2.0 if possible... away from where you have the that VirtualLink connected. Or try to find a USB extenter some where "lying around". 😋

Heh, the adapter was in a box off near the corner under some bags for a number of months so it was definitely just lying around.

I have the BT adapter plugged on top of my PC (with no othe BT gadgets) and the VR adapter plugged in the back. Plus, I've used that BT adapter just fine with my DualSense with no issue for a few years. Like I said, Windows and the PSVR2 app see the paired VR controllers. They just aren't seen by the Steam VR app for now (though one was initially).

I've plugged my PSVR2 directly into the 2070Super, and SteamVR is working flawlessly. I guess I'll just hold on to the adapter for when I want to upgrade.

Downloading Alyx now.

My Tp-Link UB500 has plently of range for my controllers, and it's plugged into a USB in the back of the tower. I've got no stuttering or connection issues with it.

Only hiccup so far is BigscreenVR crashing when I try to download audio drivers.
