They simply need to start being honest, and perhaps apologize for being deceptive.
I'd also appreciate them starting to use additive buisness tactics, as opposed to subtractive. Paying huge sums of money to take chunks out of competitor's games is shitty. It adds nothing to the world but upset and disappointment.
Use that money for something good, like making more games, or giving us free remasters/PS4 game upgrades. I guarantee Sony could have funded another full exclusive with the money they are spending to keep FF XVI off other consoles, and that's sad. They could have used that money to buy another studio, fund indie devs that desperately need the money. Square didn't need that money, and it will mostly certainly add nothing to the quality of the game. It will also certainly hurt long-term sales of the game though, may cause less people to play and enjoy it overall, and could upset thier fan base.
