Probably a downgrade. Do we know if the Pulse headset's "3D audio" is software or not?So any one think I should buy them based off the 3D audio? My ps5 is going to be hooked up to 7.1 surround sound and I'm not normally a fan of headphones. So I'm curious if switching out to headphones is going to be a down grade? I'm thinking so.
It's a product of the Tempest engine. Any headset you plug in will let you hear it.Probably a downgrade. Do we know if the Pulse headset's "3D audio" is software or not?
That's what I'm thinking, as cool as it is, it's still not the same as speakers being all around you. I might still pick one up for when the kiddo is sleeping in me and my girlfriends room. That way I don't wake her up and get yelled at! Lol. And my bet is software based, although I think they said ps5 has a special audio chip build in. But that's tech talk above my understanding so could just be marketing speak.Probably a downgrade. Do we know if the Pulse headset's "3D audio" is software or not?
It's been stated numerous times. I assume most people don't actually read other posts. LolAre people in here aware that the console itself does the 3D audio processing and that it will work with any stereo headphones/headset? Because folk seem to be implying that you need these new Sony headsets.
You want headphones that cup over your ears instead of earbuds. HRTF uses the shape of your ear for the 3D audio. Its actually kinda interesting. But im just going to use and he headphone jack i think. Any set of regular headphones or earbuds will work for the 3d audio effect.

I pre-ordered cause I want the better audio and hoping it connects to the PS5 without a USB dongle. I worry about USB real estate not knowing how the PSVR will connect.
Didn't surround sound not work for headphones with the PS4? Wasn't it only stereo...?Correct. 3D audio is not exclusive to this headset. Cerny, stated in the road to PS5 any speakers or headsets can utilize 3D audio.
The best headset isn't a headset at all. It's a pair of headphones with a Boompro mic.So basically the best headset to get with a PS5 is one that can deliver a very wide sound stage, good enough bass, and clean mic experience?
Nope.I preordered a pair when the Amazon orders went up with the plan to cancel nearer the time if they were a bit crap.
Does anyone know if the PS5 supports Bluetooth headphones? I'd love to use my Sony WH-XM3's without having to use the 3.5mm jack.

Is the controller not able to power them properly?I've been doing this for years and agree that it's fantastic for the mic but the audio quality through the controller is far from great.
Bluetooth isn't good for gaming so unlikely.I preordered a pair when the Amazon orders went up with the plan to cancel nearer the time if they were a bit crap.

Still using this guy. The material around the ear is starting to peal off so feels like a good time to upgrade.
Ah, so the software has been moved from the headset to the system itself. Then there's no need to buy the official headset then, I'll just stick with my current headphones. If those wireless cans are really good though, and work on PC, I may pick some up to use with my VR HMD.It's a product of the Tempest engine. Any headset you plug in will let you hear it.
You know you can just replace that part right? Did it with my headphones and now they look like new. Found a third party replacement online that fits and looks like the original piece. Cost about 20 dollars.
