the coil whine in your body is your skeleton screaming to get outIn a perfectly silent room you'll notice that even your own body has coil whine
coil whine isnt the right word, but the dualsense controller does atleast for me as well make a strange sound coming from inside, that isnt the triggers or the haptics

you have to enable the sound in the player, its muted by default

So you can hear sound from this video?you have to enable the sound in the player, its muted by default
i can hear the sound the controller is making in the video, its the same that i can from my own controller
That sound is just the effect of the adaptive triggers repeatedly engaging and re-engaging (and only that part of Astro's Playroom uses that specific effect of "on-off-on-off-on-off"). It may not be intended, but it is expected. Not coil whine but my R2 trigger does make a noise sometimes, like some loose parts rattling inside. I first noticed it when I played the rocket thruster level in Astro. If you played the game, you know the L2 R2 triggers go crazy during that part, I suspect something came loose there and now I can occasionally hear some rattling coming from the R2 trigger when I play games with adaptive triggers.
But it's not a constant noise, it doesn't happen when I play Valhalla. I think the warranty only cover the console itself and not the controller? I would buy another one but waiting for some new colours.
Even with headphones on and volume maxed on both my laptop and the player, this video is completely silent.
at first i couldnt hear it, but was able to by pausing and unpausingI feel like I'm going insane trying to hear this. I've now tried AirPods Pro, Ear Buds, and a regular set of 3.5mm buds.
Dualsense is John Cage's 4'33" of gaming.

LolI never tried to listen to my controller lol. Are you that desperate to find something?

i think the DSM people are going to have to add "console launch psychosis" in the next editionI'm maybe outing myself here but I swear I had never heard of the term coil whine before the PS5's launch. (That's not to downplay concerns about coil whine and noisy PS5s, but we're worrying about controller "coil whine" now? Wild)
Well, I ran it through Audition, and it's definitely there. No telling if it's actually coming from the controller and not the system across the room, though. Or anything else, for that matter. And I did have to increase the volume around a hundred-fold.
I don't notice coil whine but it seems the buttons have ray tracing? Can anyone confirm?
The dualsense doesn't have a transformer in it though.Virtually any electronic that has some kind of transformer in it - i.e. most electronics - will have some amount of coil whine, usually barely perceptible. If you start paying attention to it, it will drive you crazy.
maybe you are right, i dont think i can hear it anymore from the video,, i think it was just the white noice from the mic of his videoI don't think that's the controller but just the environment. I genuinely cannot hear a thing beyond the white noise inherent in videoing anything.

Yeah might as well be a silent video.Even with headphones on and volume maxed on both my laptop and the player, this video is completely silent.
