Funny how those who decided that we needed to fund the police, placate the police, or join the police are mysteriously absent from this thread. Where are those who say "all cops are bad is a terrible slogan because not all cops are bad"? Where are those who insisted that the protesters cost us elections? Where are all the people who takes about focus means testing the perfect slogan?
Maybe, just maybe, this phrases exist because of the constant naked exposure of the vile, racist, and corrupt nature of the police. Maybe these phrases are not meant to win a random electoral seat and are cries of outrage over injustices. Maybe the activists and protesters aren't interested in a corrupt systems that shows no care about fixing the issue and will hide behind poll numbers to justify the increasing body count. But no, as always, it's the activists who are wrong.
