My Gen 8 wishlist that totally won't come true
-A massive world to explore with appropriate scale on the characters/environments (no chibi) and full third person camera control on the right stick. Seamless transitions between fields, towns and interiors would be also be nice.
-World doesn't need to be as open and freely explorable as something like Breath of the Wild with its climbing and gliding mechanics, but being able to explore off the beaten path and find a random cave with some cool Pokemon in it would be neat.
-An emphasis on non-linearity and player agency with the central plot being to simply "become champion". I'd like to see self-contained vignette styled stories in each town, though.
-A focus on environmental immersion. When I'm surfing out in the middle of the ocean at midnight with no safe havens in sight and like, a thunderstorm kicks up, I want to feel fuckin' scared.
-Visible Pokemon on the overworld, ideally with interspecies interaction to help increase immersion.
-Let's Go-style capture mechanics, or at least something like it. The old capture style has worn itself out imo and can be a major drag if your Pokes are considerably stronger than the enemy, etc.
-Battles that take place on the overworld (no transitions), or it that isn't possible, then have extremely fluid transitions like in Persona 5 that don't feel like they upset the game's flow.
-An antagonistic rival that helps propel the player through the game.
Prolly more that I'm forgetting, but the Switch is an absolute giant leap over the 3DS in terms of hardware and I really want Game Freak to use it to make me feel like I'm livin' in a Pokemon world.
