I just bought Knack 2 on PS Store sale for ~10$. PS Meeting can wait. I dont want the trailer for Knack 3 to spoil the ending of 2.

As long as it has the interesting info and game footage. 🤷‍♂️

State of Play and a Playstation Meeting are ultimately both just streams I'm going to watch on the internet.

I hate State of Play more than anything else Playstation has ever done, including "599".

(ok maybe it's not that bad, but it's up there)

It's just so damn sterile and hypeless that I can't ever get behind it.

I kind of agree but I also think any hype most of these State of Plays could have had were kind of killed by leaks.

I think it's a passable format to serve as filler in a stop-gap year like 2019 was for Sony, but I don't want to see it anywhere in 2020. SoP has no business being used to market the PS5 and its games.

And yes, "sterile" is the perfect word for it.

I wrote an article a few days ago about Sony's e3 memorable moments and I got so many dms about the ps5. I don't think I can remember a more feverish time like this before a console reveal. This is something else!

Shawn Layden told us to see in 2019 awhile back.

And we 'only just' got wired articles & State of Plays + whatever I can't remember currently at that year.

No E3 2019, even uneventful 25th year anniversary...

I post my Ricky Gervais laughing GIF if I could, but I'm on mobile right now.

A FF7 demo might feed us for awhile... Of course we're hungry we went from mind blowing E3 events that extended to a lot of the USA via movie theaters. Followed by cancelled events leading up to PS5. We want to know what's up them sleeves.

I think they won't do a February event at all. The PS4 is still selling well and there's a lot of big AAA games coming to the system. Announcing the ps5 right now could take the wind out of potential sales. The ps3 position in 2013 was more unfavorable and they had less to lose.
I can definitely see them doing an event around E3.

The people who just right now are buying a PS4 over 6 years after its release probably aren't the type of people who are gonna get a $500 PS5 later this year or anytime soon after. No matter how big of an information blowout Sony does for a PS5, I doubt it would have any noteworthy impact on PS4 sales.

A couple of reboots in the same vein as RE2/RE3 in the RE Engine you say... 🤔

Dino Crisis? Lost Planet? (That OsirisBlack talked about a sci-fi IP from the same company making RE8) Maybe Onimusha?

Don't see a reboot for Dragon's Dogma because I don't see it from Itsuno who seems to make direct sequels (DMC5). Dragon's Dogma 2 would be a thing for Itsuno but it's probably years away as Capcom recently shut down servers for DDO last year.

Shu Takumi's return to home console space would be great and he is the only one at the company who can reboot Dino Crisis as director. His last home console game he directed was Dino Crisis 2 and was main planner and event director (writer) on Dino Crisis.

Kenji Oguro's radio silence since Aug 2016 is another hint he is coming back to home console space. Capcom talked about rebooting IPs rather than make new IPs. Lost Planet is Capcom's sci-fi IP. He used to be in division 1 but 3DS era has passed and it's time for a return.

The other reboot I can think of in the same vein as RE2/RE3 in the RE Engine is Onimusha. Who would have the guts at Capcom to reboot Onimusha? Koshi Nakanishi worked at Acquire and worked on Tenchu 1/2 and created Way of the samurai series.
