Negative interest in Hood and already checked out Spongebob, but I'll check out Slay the Spire since my friends have raved about it. I would never have bought it but now I'll play it lol

I'll goof around on Spongebob a bit. Surprisingly, I never had that game despite having a Gamecube that entire gen and watching the show every day, so I feel like I have to do it as a 90s kid. Got enough nostalgia for that era of gaming and collectathons that it might work out well.

A card game and a cartoon platformer are not interesting at all. Hood looks like an average game also.

They've been like this for months. I want to see quality increase after June.

Eh.
Deep Rock Galactic was the only PS+ game that I enjoyed in the past year. I don't get why they're giving an almost 5 year old game.
Sure, it might be good, but still a weird offering. Gamepass continues to make PS+ look like shit.

Again, the direct comparison to PS+ (at least until the new service tiers launch in June) is Games with Gold.

At the moment the apt comparison to PS+ is Games with Gold, which, for April are offering a game that they offered on the same service about 8 years ago.

It makes literally no sense to compare Game Pass to PS+.

Games with Gold is the comparison you should be making.

Well, officially, a month of PS+ costs $10, the same as a month of gamepass.
It becomes cheaper once you get a yearly pass, but I still don't see why I should limit this comparison to game with gold? They are both optional subscription services, and Sony has no real competitor even with its newly announced merge.

I, as a consumer, judge both services and I don't really care what's considered an "official" comparison, I care about what service offers the best value for my money. And gamepass clearly wins here.

With this, I will now own Slay the Spire on every platform.

Great game, 100% worth your time. I didn't think it would be for me but I've put hundreds of hours into it.

I'm going to play slay the spire and try the SpongeBob game. Honestly, PS+ hasn't disappointed me at all.

Pricing and intent are important factors.

Game Pass is $60 for six months. PS+ is $60 for 12 months. One is a Netflix-like subscription service. The other is paying for online play + getting a few free games each month. That means, the proper comparison is Games with Gold.

Game Pass does not make PS+ look like shit.

I'll get Slay the Spire and SpongeBob. I've already played and beat SpongeBob on Switch, but I've been meaning to get the PS4 version now that I have a PS5 because it looks so dang bad on Switch.

Right, you can "as a consumer" make any kind of comparison, but it's nonsensical if the services aren't similar enough.

GP is more expensive: PS+ is $60 a year and on sale all the time for around 30-40, GP's $10 option doesn't even include Games with Gold (aka online, monthly games, a service exactly like PS+) and most importantly, the whole thing doesn't even work the same way as you don't get to keep the games. One is Netflix like service, other is online + monthly games you keep on your account.

Anyone been playing Hood? Wondered what the player base was like post-PS+. I know people were saying it was difficult to find games in matchmaking before, just wondering if it's worth the download now or not.

I've always wanted to try it!

I wish the art style was better in Slay The Spire. It's so...amateurish looking. Gameplay wise it's fantastic but every time I play it I'm just sitting there thinking how much it'd be elevated even more with quality art to match the rest of the game. Kind of dulls the experience for me tbh.

Nope. Playing on ps5 myself, about 10 hours of play time without a single crash.

Yeah, it seemed to only happen in one particular battle (an elite; sadly I don't remember which one now) with one particular character (the knives lady). It probably crashed my game in that battle five times.

Been smooth since. Even won my first run yesterday. 😎

Really good month. Slay the Spire is definitively a Switch game for me, but I'm pumped to check out SpongeBob.

It seems Hood could have used the PS+ boost months ago. The timing here feels slightly off. Hopefully some life is breathed into it, either way.
