Just went to check on the TV Station trip scene out of curiosity because you do get to talk about how Joker views the Phantom Thieves at that point
It never gives you the option to ever say the Phantom Thieves are bad as the new character does. The idea that she is lying should also apply to Joker in this instance, especially given the attention on the situation, at the very least they would have very different personalities like P3P, but this seems like a more radical shift imo.

They would announced something for now if a Switch version were at work, I think this serie is locked on Sony systems tbh.
And since P5 presumably takes place around 5 years after 4, so Nanako would only be a middle school student.
I only have access to PErsona 5 on PS3 unfortunetely since my friend got a copy. It's worth to play the ps3 version?
I don't see how this reveal could be a FeMC. That's a very blase attitude for the leader of the Phantom Thieves to have. It also is a lot of voice acting for the traditionally silent MC.

Only difference is slightly better textures/resolution, and no frame drops. Pretty sure the game is capped at 30 fps in the PS4 version as well. Quote me if i'm wrong though.

This doesn't really mean anything. A better point made by the same user is that the jane_ponytail file might not even be related to Joker after all since the Joker costume data and ponytail data each have a file extension and may have simply wound up together due to the way the datamining happened.
All I care about is the answer to this question: if this new game is a new rerelease of Persona 5 in the vein of Persona 4 Golden was to Persona 4, is the studio going to optimize/shorten the length of time needed to go through Mementos? That was a chore more than anything else...
Expecting more respect for your time from an expanded version of an Atlus title is going to lead to disappointment.
Kind of a random observation, but I wonder if there's any significance to the fact that she is standing in the rain without an umbrella. I don't know if they'd just forget that, considering the other characters in the scene have umbrellas. Maybe it's just meant to convey she is willing to go against the grain of society, and also has a rebellious spirit like the other phantom thieves. Idk.

An Apocalypse style side story would be far more interesting than a P4G style re-release. I honestly don't know if I could be arsed to play the whole thing again to experience one new character and whatever scenario shoves her right into the middle of things.

No way i am playing through the game again. The original content is 60-80 hours long. There are enough other games to be played.

Poll says like Torna, I think SMTIV: Apocalypse is a closer similarity to say considering that's another Atlus game that was actually a sequel to SMTIV.

I imagine that she's being questioned by Akechi about what she thinks of the Phantom thieves and she is talking against them to make her look less like a suspect.
I definitely feel this might be a expanded rerelease. In the animation it looks like everyone still understood morgana after the whole event. In the actual game, only the MC could understand morgana.

I mean I think this is a big stretch. We had to assume 1) she is being questioned for a connection, 2) when this takes place unless there is some rewrite, 3) her personality. When joker is asked about the Phantom Thieves he pumps them up when asked by Akechi
Yeah exactly that and pretty sure Joker's dialogue wasn't voiced there either unlike her in this trailer. I am going with standalone/separate scenario (like SMTIV: Apocalypse or P3's The Answer) with her being the playable character.
honestly, the fact this seems to be a standalone story instead of just a rerelease makes me a lot more excited about this. i dont want to spend another 100 hours on mostly the same story, but this seems to be a view point of a really different character (based on some character design choices i am feeling pretty confident in saying that she is the main character), which means a lot more unique content. cant wait for april.
Also should consider the purpose of the trailer. The dialogue establishes her as somewhat in opposition to the thieves to tease her role in the story. Akechi is just framing for that.
Can't wait for the full reveal. I wonder what extra oomph they can add now that PS3 is out of the picture. It would be nice if it could work as an add-on and I could get some new game + perks in there but it would make sense if not.
If it's a fully expanded version of the original game I'll probably finally play that. I always held off on playing 5 for no real reason but knowing there could be a "golden" or "fes" version has me interested in it again.
As a poster before posted, in P5 the MC is only ever neutral on the Phantom Thieves, never fully antagonistic to them as she is here. Plus that would be a weird angle to come from the first trailer. The focus is on a new girl who says she dislikes the Phantom Thieves so it's likely meant to be taken at face value.
Her last line about believing you should change things for yourself gives her too much of a clarity of purpose for it to be misdirection. With the trailer they establish that this is a new character, that she wants to help people, but she doesn't agree with the Phantom Thieves' MO. Which is a good conflict to have, because the way the Phantom Thieves work is somewhat anti-ethical to previous Persona games (in particular: Compare and contrast the Social Links in P3 and P4 with the Confidants in P5 - a lot of P5's literally rely on Joker magically solving someone's problem via Mementos instead of letting characters work it out themselves like in P3 and P4. You can even look back at IS and EP, where the "right" choice was oftentimes letting your party members handle things themselves instead of you rushing in to be The Hero).
