Damn i'm conflicted about which class to chose. I love fire magic, but devastator sounds so fun.
I would say Trickster in the most instantly fun. The slow bubble makes so many kills feel epic, the teleport behind enemies makes movement feel really fun, and overall, it just does a lot of damage really quickly. It's a good "oh, I'm basically a superhero" intro to the game, where people starting out with Pyromancer or Technomancer might not clue into how powerful they really are as quickly.Which is the best and easiest class for solo players ?
I keep reading Trickster is the best and most fun in general.
Hrmmm. Yeah, I've seen the red ball regeneration thing happen, but when I realized what it was, I was able to interrupt the next time. Maybe he had resistance up on your interrupts? It's definitely a heal ability that captains can have, and they definitely have talked about patching how quickly/how much they heal, so it's also possible it was a one-time glitch based on all the tuning? Also - the stupid captain that we all farm: I was playing this last weekend and i had one run through killing dude where instead of being dead at the end of dumping a ton of DPS into him he turns into a lil red ball? And then just reappears full of health?
I was interrupting the thing he was charging up (i thought?) but still he managed to do this like 4 times in a row before he finally died. Seriously killed the efficiency of that particular run!
You can only pre-load it via the Xbox app not the gamepass app...and it's only working for some people, not all. I've tried to set it downloading a few times but it just won't work. so YMMV.

I don't think this was ever accurate.
Did I miss something since this clarification came out (originally they had Series S at 30fps, but corrected it in a Tweet the next day)?
I don't know about 30 but I remember the 4k60 claim from the devs and I don't think 4k turned out to be true. Not native at least. Didn't DF do a video?Did I miss something since this clarification came out (originally they had Series S at 30fps, but corrected it in a Tweet the next day)?
Outriders Runs at 4K/60 FPS on Xbox Series S
gamingbolt.com
DF says the demo is 60fps with dips to as low as 45fps in sections, and dynamic resolution, but I'm not sure if the demo is representative of the full game. Just going off what the official marketing materials are saying everywhere that I can find for the full game, but will happily change if it's wrong when the full game is out. Wasn't sure if OTs for games on all consoles just listed the 4k as advertised, even when Digital Foundry had shown dynamic resolution up to 4k, as it's my first real OT here.I don't know about 30 but I remember the 4k60 claim from the devs and I don't think 4k turned out to be true. It's totally fine tbh. It just stuck with me as i had an interest in knowing because I own a Series S! Don't worry about it. Ok good to know that worked for another person. I tried that and it wouldn't work :(I had trouble getting it to download, then read someone had got it to work by picking another game to download to eliminate the logjam, which worked for me. I had to do it with the console on though, which may or may not have something to do with the fact I have it set to power saving mode.
I liked the demo, despite some jankiness. Like others have said it's the perfect sort of thing to try on Game Pass.
You have to think of this game as like 3rd person Diablo 3. Not like Gears of War. Constantly keep your abilities on cool down.
Been looking forward to this for a while. I wasnt super sold on any of the classes yet. Seemed like everyone in the demo was playing Trickster though lol.
Trickster is just the more powerful class in the demo. Pyro and techno needs more gear and skills to really show how powerful they are.You have to think of this game as like 3rd person Diablo 3. Not like Gears of War. Constantly keep your abilities on cool down.

Nope. It's only cross-save for same platform 😦So if I played the demo on ps5, can I carry my progression over if I get it on Xbox series x game pass?
Can you switch characters? I picked the Titan like character but I'm not really feeling him. Thanks (:
No, but I'll say this-unless you farmed a ton of legendaries, you could speedrun back to where you were in like 1.5-2 hours. I pkayed every class in the demo and subsequent runs are so much faster once you get the loop. Also, what we farmed in the demo is going to quickly be outclassed in the real game (purples > blues and outside of Legendaries, you'll be able to fill yr mod library naturally, quickly). So if I played the demo on ps5, can I carry my progression over if I get it on Xbox series x game pass?
Probably Trickster or Devastator? That said, I played Pyro to level 17 and World Tier 9 completely solo on the beta and it felt like a great and powerful option.
I would say trickster as well. You have enough agility to get out of some hairy situations, while also having enough skills to do some serious damage.
I'm not sure why it's taken this long for someone to get a third person shooter loot game right, but for whatever reason, it has. I've been waiting for something like this since Hellgate London and is the third person Diablo I've actually wanted someone to make. It's also the best analogy I have for it, too, especially in terms of builds and the loot game and it all being in one box, etc. Godfall was close, but the armor not being part of the loot means it didn't quite hit it for me. I just want to shoot things and have them explode into loot that eventually makes my character look sweet. And before someone @'s me with Borderlands, that was a first person game. :P
PC gamepass would have guaranteed I play this but maybe down the road when it's on sale or something. Powers are pretty cool, trickster bubble and sword, devastator bullet shield/reflect were my favorite bits from the demo. Can't say there was really anything else to catch my eye in terms of story, enemies, or gunplay.
Enemies aren't make or break for me, I play Avengers FFS. I'll take another look when the game is out, it just didn't grab me in the few hours I played across those classes. To be fair to the enemy variety, the demo is a small fraction of the enemies you will fight. There is many non-humanoid enemies to fight too.
The whole game is fully soloable (I got up to level 17/world tier 9 in the beta), though we haven't seen how tough the Expeditions will be solo yet. That said, crossplay and matchmaking, and because there's no PVP, you should be able to join up with anyone, even strangers, for fun mayhem.I know next to nothing about this game, after reading this I've become very interested in this.
So do you think someone would be able to enjoy this game in single player or is there enough content worthwhile without needing to go online and do multiplayer?
You should really do all classes. Its very easy also and if you have one character you can skip the prologue stuff with every other character and go straight in the game with powers and unlocking things with the new character.
If they fixed the performance, the awful cover system etc, I will give this another shot. Demo was a little messy and kinda put me off but Game Pass means I will give it a fair shake.
we should be able to access this in the US via VPN on Wednesday, correct?
I agree - i was lucky and someone gave me a powerful set of witch doctor gear in Diablo 3 and blasting through rifts was 100% ability management. Playing this, and watching a couple of build videos it's clear that this game has a similar focus. That said there are one or two builds which seem very shooting focussed and some that are very ability focussed so a good mix and choice for people. You have to think of this game as like 3rd person Diablo 3. Not like Gears of War. Constantly keep your abilities on cool down.
