Whimsicott, Pikachu, Mincinno, and Flareon are in.
So that's my top 4.

Jirachi and Marshadow aren't, but they're not usually on my teams (cause they're not available most of the game, and VGC bans them).
I think they have a shot of making it in with other Mythicals though, so still hopeful.

Yeah it really is a hype killer, I mean I always had some of the cut pokémon in my main team for the whole games, what's the point anymore if your favorites are cut.
If they can't fit every monsters maybe it's time to have a longer dev cycle, because this suck so much.

All of the starters (sans Charmander) and legendaries missing makes it obvious that they'll patch in more Pokemon later or release them as event Pokemon, though. There's no chance they are just going to abandon all of the starters, they are just too popular for that.

Looking at it as positive as possible, I haven't played a pokemon game seriously since Red/Blue (got maybe a 3rd of the way into Gold/Silver) so for me there is a lot of new here.

Still though there are tons of designs that I have been exposed to and really like that aren't in, which is a bummer.

I never said there aren't people who don't enjoy the post game, but most people who play Pokémon are kids. They beat it and move on. Hell, the only Pokémon game I haven't played is Let's Go and I've never cared about post game.

nobody's under any delusions that the games won't do well, but that doesn't make the criticism invalid. they've removed features from a series that we've enjoyed in the past, and the cuts finally reached a point where a lot of prior fans are no longer interested. it'll still sell millions, but it doesn't mean the changes are objectively good in any way.

personally, my journey for these games have gone from get at release > wait for more info on final roster > wait for a steep cut some time in the distant future.

I've always disliked how Pikachu took the spotlight from my favourite Pokémon, Raichu. But in this case I'm very thankful for Pikachu most likely securing the future survival of Raichu.

And if you don't end up buying it that's totally your decision, voting with your wallet is definitely the way to go when it comes to things like this. These Pokémon threads get more traction than a lot of others on this site and it's crazy to me the amount of complaining that's going on, and some of those same people still wanting to buy a game that they're intent on hating from the get go.

Only thing that bums me out is that I never really experienced Sun/Moon, so there's a whole generation of Pokemon I effectively never saw. I haven't really been into the series for a long time but I still managed to get caught up in each new generation and somewhat familiarize myself with the new Pokemon. I'll probably never see some of those from Sun/Moon now. Ah well, that's alright. Still looking forward to this game. I hope Gigantimax or whatever that stupid shit is doesn't turn me off from it.

So only 400 pokemon (rip my Gliscor, Scizor, Garchomp and Salamences with perfect IV and egg moves), and no post game. I hope at least the main history is good man.

And they royally fucked me with no abra to get the nature I want with eggs. Have they made some changes in the breeding system? It's still a chore?
