I need to know what the context of this scene is. I understand the premise of the movie but I've never seen it. Its "Cruising" from 1980 starring Al Pacino as an undercover cop in the gay S&M/leather scene in NYC.
If memory serves, it's an intimidation tactic for another person in the room. Al gets hit around by this outrageous looking guy, so the actual suspect is shocked into spilling without them having to rough him up.
Hmm, well okay. I feel like I'm missing something still. I guess I need to watch the movie now.
They use to actually do this if memory serves me right. The idea is that if the suspect tried to tell anybody about it, it would sound so ridiculous that no one would actually believe them.
This made the whole thread worthy of attention.oh Man. it's a rare day when I get to post THIS gem AND it's on topic

Okay well it got me I admit.Just in case anyone is either confused or really, REALLY drunk- Crusing Electric is not real. It's a very well done parody of 1980s toy merchandising that was made in 2014.
I wasn't really paying too much attention to it, and while it did set off alarm bells, I didn't think much of it.The "your two dads put it together" should have been a dead giveaway
