And this is why I don't want Sony anywhere near a handheld. Christ this is sad.
I promise I'll stop after this one.
Vita software in the US was so bad that the top 5 Wii U games combined sold more than every single Vita game combined (Packaged Software comp only)
Media molecule were still eating off lbp 1&2 dlcs that's the big difference thereThe Vita Curse is unsparing, and even though Dreams is shaping up, I still have a pang of worry for Media Molecule just because of Tearaway debuting on Vita. Prove me wrong, Sony!
It's a shame the PS crowd in the US doesn't support portables much. Personally I really like both the psp and vita and have about 60 games on eachThey bought them on PS3 instead, simple as that. Had P4G been released on PS3 as well, it wouldn't even show up here.
Not a discrete handheld platform but I feel like SIE is going to do something in the future given the way they keep talking about Switch. Probably a PS5 component, accessory or breakaway unit, maybe combined somehow with PSVR2. Also given the way Forwardworks keeps failing in mobile space it might be better to divert those resources back to their own platform.
Well the Wii U was a failed system but it had significantly better software sales. Nothing on Vita compared to Splatoon as far as new IPs go. Maybe my perspective is warped as Vita outsold Wii U globally but got trounced where I live (US)I don't think there will be another Sony handheld but coming to that conclusion because of the Vita doesn't make sense, it's a failed system, we're people expecting it to be different in terms of software?
I said wow, despite the hardware selling OK, software bombed really hard.
iirc it was the last game by the devs of SOCOM. 3rd person military shooter. It was pretty good from what I remember playing.I've only played P4 of that list and have never even heard of Unit 13
What's it about, is it any good?
No I doubt it because Minecraft wasn't counted either. P4 would definitely be higher though.
To this day, Golden Abyss is the only Uncharted game I've been able to finish
Awesome thanks. Nintendo and Bethesda seem like only big guys missing (and Valve if they count), but there's a lot of mid and small tier pubs to go (Sega/Atlus, Epic, Konami, Codemasters, Koei Tecmo, NISA, Devolver, Aksys, Paradox, Telltale, etc).
:(I promise I'll stop after this one.

Wait, I knew Activision doesn't share Battle.net sales because you've provided that disclaimer numerous times in the past but I was under the impression they did share Steam sales. So they don't share any digital PC sales?
That's a really sad top 10.
So much for indies and japanese games selling well on Vita too.
Not going to lie, so do I. It's at least more diverse than the PS4/XB1 lists.
Wii U also had significantly better hardware sales in the US. Like 3x Vita.Well the Wii U was a failed system but it had significantly better software sales. MK was usually a top seller back when we got individual NPD charts and was usually on the PSN charts too. Thanks to MatPiscatella for this! Seeing MK11 that high is quite surprising.
Oh I know, I'm just surprised that it's in the top ten highest sellingThe Vita ports of MvC3 and SFxT were really, really good though.
I promise I'll stop after this one.

It's a mission-based third person shooter. It barely has a story and is by no means essential but it's competent and fun. At this point I don't think anyone but hardcore Vita fans should bother with it. With Sony shutting down the Vita's Near app, some of the later missions are very hard to gain access too. They were sort of meant to be shared over Near. Not impossible but you need to get high scores on all missions if you want to play the last missions.I've only played P4 of that list and have never even heard of Unit 13

Well, I don't expect the top spot to have sold more than a few 100Ks :-)Fun Fact. If you add together the LTD unit sales of the top 10 PS Vita games in that list, it's roughly equal (slightly higher but whatever) to what Spider-Man sold in its first month.
They're a rather niche developer to begin with, but aside from the expanded port of Muramasa, their other games had console releases, where they surely did better on.
You said it yourself, Vita didn't have Nintendo games, I'm sure Mario and Smash were big sellers there.Well the Wii U was a failed system but it had significantly better software sales. Nothing on Vita compared to Splatoon as far as new IPs go. Maybe my perspective is warped as Vita outsold Wii U globally but got trounced where I live (US)
I'd have to imagine being a launch title probably helped out a lot (Similar to Super SFIV on 3DS, I guess)Oh I know, I'm just surprised that it's in the top ten highest selling
With the robust online features and smaller game sizes, I would expect Vita to have a higher than average digital attach rate... but then again you also have memory card prices to offset some of those gains as well. They really did need at least 8gb on board memory standard, great hardware but there were a lot of little things they could have done to increase chances of success
Edit: man that list above me... I wonder why Sony game support dropped off after 2013 LOL

The actual US launch of the PS Vita was weird, if you preordered the launch edition you got it on Valentine's Day but the actual launch date was eight days later on the 22nd.
