This doesn't include digital sales.

So we talking like over Brawl's 2.7 million? Holy shit, and SWITCH DID OVER 900k in March. My god no wonder there are shortages.

How did Mystery Dungeon do I saw it was fourth on Switch chart.

Nook is the goat and the true hero of the series despite being considered a cruel villain.

Excellent performance all around.

Brawl did 2.7M, so that's the upper limit for ACNH at retail (without digital). Don't know a good lower bound for it, though.

Hardware comment means it must be over 906k, which is just ridiculously high. The Switch and ACNH are beasting beyond belief!

While you all will jump on the Animal Crossing numbers, just want to point out a console exclusive baseball game out sold both RE3 and Doom.

EDIT: Wrong thread.

That is staggering.

If I'd known Animal Crossing and FF7 were going to get PR released at the same time I would have asked for the VS thread to be opened back up

2020's March was higher than 2017's March!?
Yes. So over 906k at least, and may have become the biggest non-holiday month ever (you need a bit over 1M sales for that). The reported record is revenue, and in March 2017, Switch was $300, while currently revenue is split between the OG and the Lite, so the number of units should be noticeably above the March 2017 number as well.

I'm guessing the 'Animal Crossing is huge in Japan' quip is well and truly dead now that NH has been a hit worldwide. Biggest debut of the year pretty much everywhere and it wasn't even close, even in the U.K. Well deserved too.

Absolutely bonkers numbers, and without digital to boot.

Biggest Q4 for a console since 2010-era DS is B A N A N A S

I bought one of those copies. It's been fun.

I really do like this one more than the other versions I've owned. I think it deserves the success and is the perfect game for the current state of the world.

these are crazy numbers. The game totally deserves it but I wouldn't be surprised by a crazy high digital ration and that AC eventually ends up being the best selling Switch game.

DS Q1 2010: 1.736M
Switch Q1 2020 (Before March): ~610K (only estimates)

Switch sales for March 2020 are over 900K, but have to tap out at 1.1M

probably because of covid

I chalked it up to that for not putting out any PR about AC's first week, yeah. But they often like to do something around when the NPD release comes out. And with other companies like SE doing PR I'd think they would feel confident enough to do it too.

But I guess not.

What was 3rd which has now become 4th? Guessing it wasn't BotW since it was a launch game ostensibly, was it Super Mario Odyssey? A Wii game?

Jesus. I remember looking for a Wii for weeks everyday at GameStop/BestBuy/Target for Brawl...

Now I understand why the Switch was completely impossible to find if ACNH was hitting those types of numbers.
