Can't find an answer to this so hoping someone can help me out.

When I build a base, and it's not on a flat surface, I end up with corridors and rooms just floating in the air above parts where the ground is lower than the central base room. Is there a way to put anything under these i.e. struts or something similar, that makes it look a bit better? Just looks odd with 30ft of corridor and a room just hovering above the ground.
There's a section in the building interface with supports that, providing they will connect with the parts you're building with, will do just that. Sometimes they can disappear on reload though. :\

Edit: under structures/specialist/foundations

Edit 2:

http:///7ODd.jpg

When I place that it adds a support extending down to the ground.

Sorry to hear it man.

Unfortunately the markers disappear when you leave a planet. Only save point beacons will stay and maintain the star waypoint. Other portable items should stay too but they may not leave a star. Sometimes portable refiners glitch out though and duplicate themselves too, so you'll come back and find two of them side by side.
thanks,i'm trying to remember if i did leave the planet before i noticed the marker was gone.i know i left twice because a base gave me a relic site on another world both times.

perhaps the first time i did to visit the site and unload some bones to make room before going back.

How do others orient themselves in the galaxy ? Like I find the mechanics a bit odd in that you can't seem to use portals to really warp to another location permanently .
But I have already been right by the center of the galaxy simply by being in the hub and visiting another players base .... so what is the real goal ? Just fly around ? Go to center? Hit black holes and see where you randomly end up ? I'm just curious what goals other people have .

There are 3 main quests in the game and side quests. I am working on those but not in any hurry. Right now I have been base building for mining, I basically have unlimited money and am working on nanites now. After that I want all portal codes to go ship hunting. At some point I want to make a killer underwater base, base building is a lot of fun for me.

Ah ok so you don't even worry about where you are located this seems smart. I was just kind of shocked when I warped to a players base a couple of days ago and realized I was like 100ly from the center of galaxy thinking should I go through ? But I didn't

So I eventually want to upgrade my freighter to a star destroyer. If I'm looking for an A or S class that has maybe 30 slots (I think that's what my one on PS4 had), around how much shoulda I aim for?

When do the blueprints offered in the Space Anomoly change? I bought all the exosuit ones, but every new system I go to still has the same C class blueprints lol. Do I have to buy all the current blueprints (exosuit, mutli-tool, etc) before I get options to buy higher level ones?

The blueprints on the anomaly don't change. The ones you're looking for are sold on space stations. There's a vendor for each type and their upgrade and class are randomly generated per system.

There's a limited number of blueprints. Blueprints are valuable because you know them and can build them while upgrades are just bought and if you change equipment they're lost.

Ok, got it thanks. I thought you could eventually get to build S class upgrades, but I see you have to always buy them.

What is the best way to use the galactic map with the touch controllers?

Rotating the galaxy is extremely slow. Is there an alternate way to rotate?

I know many of you may know this, but I found an easy way to keep up with frigate/freighter fuel without having to spend so much time mining Di-Hydrogen on planets since you can't buy it anywhere: just buy Di-Hydrogen Jelly and use a refiner to turn it into Di-Hydrogen.

5 x jelly = 250 DH

That plus just a few quick minutes of blowing up asteroids and I was all set to make a TON of fuel. :D

Frigate Question: if you get a Frigate that has a really bad stat (one of my mining Frigates has a -4 value for Exploration) can you just send it on a bunch of missions it's bad at and it will improve? or is there no way to improve those base stats?

Awesome, glad they're getting some PSVR improvements. By the time I'm done with dark souls 3 maybe there will be a pro patch.

Damn thanks I tried to reverse refine deuterium but that didn't work this will start me on tons of expeditions !

There's a good YouTube video on frigates but can't remember by who. There's alot to it but the best I can remember is try to level up a few frigates of each type to be their best so the -4 explore isn't too bad if its a 25 combat just send it on combat missions to max out combat then you could send it on explore missions if you want .... best is to maximize their strengths and have a few support vessels for fuel I think . It's more complicated than I initially thought

True, and worst comes to worst I can just go find and buy a better Frigate that doesn't have that bad stat.

I know ideally you want to have all of the mission type frigates go together on that mission, but right now I only own 2 of each type, so my most efficient way of ranking them all up and not putting them in too much danger is to send 1 of each type all together on a mission, and then the rest on a second mission. It's especially helpful in Balanced mission types. But man, the Exploration ones are tough with that combat frigate's -4 stat in Exploration.

Think when I get home I'll debrief them both, send them out again, and go shopping for more Support types since they seem so rare. If I see a better combat type without a super bad stat I'll grab him. Can I get rid of the ship I don't want though? Or am I stuck with it until it dies?

I think I saw a dismiss button somewhere in there but last time I looked couldn't find it ... I think you can have 30 so having a couple limited ones probably won't hurt you long term as long as you don't buy 12 like that

Yes, there are foundation base pieces that will add metal frames or legs underneath rooms.

Ok, the armorer gave me a mission to fight sentinels and I'm stuck. I accept and head out the door and the game reports 0/8 sentinels destroyed.

So 2 sentinels arrive and I shoot them, then it says 2/8 destroyed. The game then directs me to hide or leave area before reinforcements arrive so I go in my base building. Then when it's clear and I go back out, it says 0/8 sentinels destroyed. So what gives? How do I not reset the sentinel counter?

Don't hide. Stay out in open combat until you get the required number of kills. That mission is really glitchy; I had in my questlog for like a year before I managed to finish it.

Heh, my activated indium farm planet is nowhere near as well served. It's pretty easy to dot wooden sheds with only 3 walls here and there to dive into while constructing. If you've found nothing better it may be worth a go, besides if you spend a few hours at it, you may get the extreme biosphere milestone.

Ah, yeah that's a significant liability :) still searching for a better one myself. Though my planet is a goldmine of storm crystals given its hazardous nature. I should really take an exocraft and search properly for an "S" class mine since it's pretty flat

I think we need smooth turning in Exocraft on PSVR. Aside from it making me nauseous it's janky as fuck. I hope they fix it...

Edit: This is when using DS4.

Has anyone had a chance to try this out in PSVR just before and after the update to compare?

I've yet to jump back in, but am hearing that there isn't really any noticeable improvement to clarity other than stuff in the distance appearing a little clearer (more jagged).

Still hoping for news of a Pro patch.

Anyone have any tips how to find a good indium mine ? I've just been flying around touching down scanning and leaving . Seems faster than running or boosting because one field goes for like 500u.
The launch cost is no prob because I stashed like 2k U for the trip. However if it's better on foot I'll need a better planet I've surveyed about 6 candidates so far but they're all massively hot /cold/ rad

Yeah it's really awful. Wouldn't be so bad if you could accelerate and reverse with the right stick, which is unused.

Using the exocraft is the only thing that's ever given me motion sickness in VR. Even Wipeout is fine for me.

I used the Pilgrim to scout for my mine. I would just pop out to scan every 10 seconds or so. Since the weather is so bad on these planets, I built almost everything well below ground using the terrain manipulator and the various caves I came across.

I didn't realise the PSVR improvement patch had released for PS4 yet? It was part of experimental branch for PC late last week but I haven't seen my NMS PS4 update yet.

Could be wrong though!

what's the best way to find an s-class ship now?

at the moment i started following the atlas path because i thought i read as you go along the systems get richer, after every jump i check in the space station what sort of class is landing.

so far it has mostly been C's with a few B's and a rare A,if i spot an S that isn't quite what i want i'll try for a trading post so i can take my time but it is finding the right system first.i've got 54m units burning a hole in my spacesuit just for this.

Here's an aerial shot of the base with the mineral extractors buried on the left, the electromagnetic generators buried on the right, and the base computer with a shelter in the middle. I made a long tunnel to connect the extractors and the generators.
mine1mlj5f.png

The tunnel burrowed through some caves which I filled with supply depots to store the mined material.
mine2y5kyu.png

I put a single supply depot above ground so I could teleport in, grab my activated indium, and leave without seeing any of the mess below ground.

The systems don't necessarily get richer as you warp along, since the economies are random. On the galaxy map look for systems with 3 star economies. They'll have descriptions like wealthy, booming, opulent, advanced, high supply, etc. These are most likely to have S-Rank ships.

okay thanks, looks like i'll have to install that economy scanner then.i was putting off intalling anything but the bare minimum until i had the s-class.

Remember that while S-class and unique ships have the potential to outstrip other rankings, much like with multitools a solid A-class ship often will have better stats than an S-class. This is especially true regarding storage space.

All I'm saying is that you should look at the numbers and not just the class especially if you're holding off on doing and upgrading. A fantastic A-class is going to be a lot easier to find than an S-class with perfect stats and appearance.

The economy scanner is very useful because it also gives you an option to scan for trade outposts. It's in one of the submenus when you press down on the dpad.
