News:

For smart devices, we have gotten off to a good start for Dragalia Lost, which we released to the delight of consumers all over Japan, the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. Meanwhile, titles released before the start of this fiscal year like Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes, and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp are each maintaining steady popularity, bringing our smart devices, IP related income to 18.7 billion yen (4.7% increase on a year-on-year basis).

Sales of other popular titles that were released
during previous fiscal years and titles released by other software publishers continued to grow, bringing the total number of million-seller titles during this period to 9, including the titles of other software publishers.

Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition and Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition recorded total sales of 3.69 million units.

This is gonna be interesting. I predict that Nintendo will revise its hardware predictions. They cruised in 2018 and sales are gonna reflect that, smash or not.

I don't feel like they are going to reach the 20m goal.

They won't. It'll be a big number (16 or 17 million, maybe?), but not 20 million.

As far as I'm concerned, they haven't earned 20 million in sales this year and the market will reflect that.

Edit - wait a second, that Switch number is an increase YoY. Better than I expected, honestly.

YoY increase for Switch hardware. Not bad seeing how July-September didn't have much.

BOTW shipped 980k, SMO 1M, MK8D 1.36M and Splatoon 2 710k off the top of my head. Incredible numbers for those evergreen titles: they definitely aren't done selling!

Nintendo can always do a more lucrative bundle or move a game back to Q4 to potentially hit 20m if it's close. Don't think there's much reason to doubt it until we know how Q3 went.

I wonder if they will make it to 20 million this fiscal year. I don't think they did anything to help themselves reach that goal.

They need to sell 10m+ units in 4th quarter (3rd Quarter of FY) to reach 20m goal. It really likes they are not going to reach to goal.

Mario Tennis climbing up the ranks fast, Kirby is matching ARMS, Tropical Freeze blows past the Wii U, and even Xenoblade 2 maintains steady sales. Good stuff.

Also, there are 9 million sellers on the system during this fiscal year, 6 of which are from Nintendo. That means 3 third party million sellers. One of them is Octopath, what would the others be?

I can't believe 1-2 Switch is the 5th best selling Switch game.

It's really depressing.

Nintendo missing their 20m target isn't that big a deal imo if they still hit 17.5m+, it will still make the switch second year a resounding success.

I think Q3 will be around 9m.

Good stuff - zelda breaking that 10m single sku barrier, mk8 probably will be the best selling switch title next quarter, good performance by the games on the lower millions. Those Xenoblade legs are great for a JRPG.

However I just don't see it crossing that 20m mark unless smash/lgpe realllly carries it.
