FYI to fellow shmup fans, Terra Force is back in the eShop. It probably was just released too early on accident the first time around as speculated.
Monolith is a way better twinstick roguelite than both of those though. Hopefully that gets a Switch port someday.
Nuclear Throne is a better traditional twinstick shooter, whereas Gungeon seems to appeal more to fans of stuff like Binding of Isaac and has a more modern feel. Gungeon doesn't have the proper pacing and gameplay feel to capture the arcade twinstick shooter vibe. I didn't find it very fun, personally, though I can see the appeal.Enter the Gungeon is Nuclear Throne with more content and better levels and better bosses and better art and better everything.
Nuclear Throne is the prototype that Enter the Gungeon built from. NT deserves credit for that, but Enter the Gungeon is far better.
IMO

It's a visual novel with very light gameplay. There's no real gameplay loop, though the game is divided into separate days. It has a great, cozy cyberpunk vibe like Snatcher.
