Sorry, so, are we still thinking another Direct is coming this week?
Nope.

Nate had said it wasn't going to be a partner showcase though.
I know plans can change but in that case don't say stuff like that. I know it's partly my fault in listening but at this point I'm confident in saying the insiders aren't reliable, at least for this year.
It's an Antonioni film, like L'Avventura. You keep expecting something to happen, but nothing ever happens.
Come on.Well said. I don't think anyone's trying to be intentionally dishonest here but don't go around telling people it's a Direct with first-party games. My guess is Partner Showcases and random Twitter announcements from here on out.

Nate said this was the direct.
No. But we're getting there.
there is nothing on Friday, this is what we are getting this month.
Fun fact: All Nintendo games are made by the disappoint of its fans.
This would actually please me. A Mario Collection announcement this week would make a lot of fans happy I do think.Yeah he explained why. He knew about a direct of some kind this week, and he was told Mario collection was also going to be announced this week, so he assumed it was a general.
Fuck no, we got Directs every other month and constant apologies from Iwata and co.
I absolutely agree, Nate himself has admitted he made assumptions but right here he's stating it like he knows it. Insiders aren't being transparent enough, and are instead posting teases like "Lightning strikes twice" and hidden messages in images to try to hype everybody up for stuff they don't really know much about.
look at the website you're posting on
It legit baffles me that the didn't just do that because it would be so much better together than like this.july partner direct + august mini partner direct + indie direct would make one good direct
Nah that's the fans and the insiders sources.
Nintendo's probably Homer sitting on the couch as always not doing anything.

Believe in Friday man! Its time to lets-a-go!

Last time they were actually like this we got the Direct of desperation of early 2013 where they announced games that wouldn't be out for 2+ years at that point. Here they seem to be overly relaxed instead.
I suppose there's still hope for the Mario Collection to release in late September, and to get some news about NSO in one way or another (through twitter probably). This would actually please me. A Mario Collection announcement this week would make a lot of fans happy I do think.
Now I'm really curious about this 28th date. Mini aside, getting the date wrong was unexpected. It would be funny, and very unfortunate for someone, if a Switch game is announced on the 28th, maybe from a third party, and people could then identify a/the source of some of this info.
