It is a remaster of the first game with the Japanese brother protagonist as opposed to the Western papa protagonist
It's basically a remaster of the worse version of the original game.
The western version flopped because papa was old and ugly, Square knows what's up.It's a remaster of Nier for PS3/360, but starring the shittier, Japan-only version of the main character.
The Switch, in general, has poor support from major publishers.

Some Nier fans have a hate boner for protagonist that don't look like a sack of melted potatoes.Thanks. I guess being the worse version is subjective from I've gathered here, though.
It's the better game from a story and world standpoint. Don't @ me.I really hope I like this one more than Automata (I was very "whelmed" by that game), I generally prefer the vibes at least and I liked what I played of it on 360, dunno why I never finished it there.

This is Square Enix though, they have a good relationship with them I would have thought.

So, question.
The game is only the younger character, right?
Why does the debug menu list both, provided I'm reading it right...
There's a timeskip, the character he is playing is the older version of Brother Nier.
