We get the breakdown sure, but i'm sure how the new consoles perform and the ins and outs from developers starts to be much clearer after launch.
edit: Although it's not going to be so much about the GPU/CPU and more about the SSD/memory I think. Definitely not like the PS3 launch, where everyone assumed the Cell was going to be a significant power advantage over 360.

Not that this means much, but some twitter insiders seem to be teasing that tomorrow there's a big announcement imminent. Speculation says it's an announcement of the PS5 unveiling.

I use the term "insider" loosely. The only one who's close to knowing stuff imo is Liam Robertson.

I don't know that guy, but there is little doubt a Nintendo Direct will be announced very soon. Most Nintendo insiders began to tease today. But it usually happen on tuesday/thursday.
It's possible we could get both an announcement of a Direct and an announcement of the PlayStation Meeting tomorrow! :)
No idea where that is, mystery companion, but we shall venture further into PS5 Feb than any before us have done.

I expect the PSMeeting to be late Feb, as I think Sony would have wanted it slightly after the original release of TLOU2 on Feb 21.

I agree. I think the whole idea that there even will be a playstation meeting (specially in february) is just mostly based on 2013. I hope that there will be one (and I understand that us gaming forum guys in general would enjoy watching it) but it also wouldnt surpise me if announcing State of Play with PS5 info can meet the same goals for Sony.
I would really like it if they just randomly uploaded a slick video teaser, just like 2013, but chances of this are very low.
There's a difference between choosing an optimal launch frame and launching as fast as possible after a tape out. PC GPUs can usually launch in six months after tape out, NV's GPUs can usually do this even faster as they haven't done a single respin for several years now.
They don't. The process here is fairly similar to a PC GPU launch since it's also not just a chip but a system board, memory and stuff.
Don't get me wrong but I'm inclined to disagree with almost everything he said. The devil is in the details and the meaning of words can be totally different despite them being the same.
Big changes to an existing silicon won't happen a year prior to launch. A completely different silicon which was designed in parallel can happen a year prior to launch easily.
It's possible that it happened before, I'm just saying that it couldn't have happened after.
