design is better, still looks like its going to be a bad movie
explain
This one is even worse because Sonic totally nailed it. Having the character say nailed it is only funny when they don't nail it.They fucking have to sneak in a "nailed it" in every goddamn one of these kids movies though, it's insufferable.
It's interesting because Sonic himself seems mostly aimed at kids (which makes sense, it's the franchise's primary audience) but the combination of Carrey doing some old-school Carrey shit and being called Robotnik is definitely aimed at an older audience who are more familiar with those things.Script seems made for little kids, but Sonic and Robotnick look great.
RELEASE THE UGLY CUT
Yeah I noticed that tooSomething is off about the compositing of the Sonic Model over the plates, like the colours don't feel like they match the contrast/light of the world around him.
They didn't, it's just this movie doing that. The movie looks fun.
And maybe that's a dumb question, but when did they go back to calling him Robotnik? I always prefered that name.
Sonic Adventure merged the two. He (usually) refers to himself as Robotnik, while Sonic's nickname for him is Eggman. The movie looks fun.

Now it's Puma shoes lol

It's an entirely new model they're likely still tweaking into the overlay of the old shots. Wouldn't be surprised if they're still a final pass away from being done. These trailer shots were likely the first renders out the door.
Japan gets Pumas? lol
Just for funsies, here are some of the fan edits of the original trailer:
I'm starting to buy into the conspiracies that the first trailer was a ruse to drum up attention/lower our expectationsAll jokes aside... Give those animators a raise and paid vacation. To turn that around in mere months... must not have been pleasant for them

Just checked the old trailer and he was wearing Pumas, too. Just different looking ones.

Sega had their logo on the first oneThe fact that SEGA agreed to put their logo this time around puts things on perspective
