I hope THQ has more PS2 remakes to show off. I've been loving the love they are showing legacy games.

Yeah Content sounds like nothing, but for Stadia maybe not?

I imagine they're using The Game Awards' definition of reveal/premiere meaning a new trailer counts.

Still cool that they're doing this. Makes Gamescom feel bigger.

Would be cool if this opening night is the conference for the coming years.
We see alot of publishers dont do a conference anymore at Gamescom. But we get everyone together for this its a nice replacement.

Midgar, With Love
Square Enix: "Final Fantasy Tactics 2 and Xenogears Remake!"

I've been making this prediction for close to 20 years. Someday I'll be correct. And then you'll all be SHOCKED.

Oh boy, I can't wait for Sony to announce a date for a gameplay trailer of TLOU2 instead of any new games.

There will be game announcements. I'm expecting something like Age of Empires 4 to be shown.

Or well, hoping would be the correct word, I guess.

We've got some great stuff lined up for this show -- just to set expectations, there will be some brand new game announcements and surprises, but lots of new content for highly anticipated games you already know about coming later this year and in 2020.

Wonder what Capcom's showing. Can't just be Iceborne seeing as how that comes out just a couple weeks later right?

Well played, Geoff. I'm not really looking forward to any currently announced games so I'm probably gonna skip the show. Appreciate the alignment of expectations!

Maybe we'll actually get to see Microsoft's long-rumored Switch support with Ori and the Blind Forest being announced here. HOPEFULLY under Xbox Game Studios and not fucking THQ Nordic which were mentioned in a listing as being the distributor just before their little INCIDENT.

Probably mainly content updates than actual new game announcements. At least for SIE & Xbox.

Sony are confirmed to be showing off Death Stranding, I imagine Concrete Genie and Medievil are safe bets as well.

As for Xbox AoE4 was held off for Gamescom, Gears 5 is showing off more multiplayer stuff (horde mode iirc).

Stadia will also have a presence on the showfloor.

Which (correct me if I'm wrong) will be their first public showing to date?

Yeah, I think it has the potential to be a net positive experience for everyone involved with a lot less expected from them, while still providing a good show. Having to share space does kinda discourage megatons, but we haven't been getting those at Gamescom for a while anyway.

We'll see how it goes I suppose!

Would it be possible for Square to have something to say about Nier? Haven't there been rumors of a new game for a while now?
