After playing with my SNESC for 2 days I'm not sure I care about SNES games anymore, especially the very common well known games that will surely be in the service. GBA games would be interesting though.
Just fuck my Switch up
Vice: Project Doom just released tho.
Seeing this reminded me that I never ordered the NES ones. And made me think... hmm... what are the odds they quit selling the NES ones as soon as they announce and release the SNES ones..? Probably pretty decent knowing Nintendo and their silliness.
So I just ordered a pair. In case people are curious the NES ones are *not* cheap. $59.99 US not including tax or shipping. My total came out just now to $70.35. Man, Nintendo is no joke with controller prices these days. Also, active Nintendo Online subscription required to purchase and you can only purchase one pair per account.
I'd assume gameboy before N64?So every holiday season we get another console added to the Switch? N64 next year, Gamecube 2021 and Wii 2022?
Yeah that was definitely out of left field. It will be interesting to see if they continue down that path at all.Vice: Project Doom just released tho.
More releases like that and I may redownload the app.
Exactly what they did last year. The NES controllers released months after the service launched.
Tricks on you. Nintendo will end the Switch before holiday 2021 to make sure no GameCube games come.So every holiday season we get another console added to the Switch? N64 next year, Gamecube 2021 and Wii 2022?
Yeah.Yeah that was definitely out of left field. It will be interesting to see if they continue down that path at all.
Very true. And suspect that this will be the main reason behind the increased likelihood of SNES games on Switch.Nintendo is always going to look for ways to introduce (ie make some money off of) their classic games to people unfamiliar with them. It makes financial sense to consistently reintroduce these classic titles. There is always going to be a portion of the audience that has never played them. The SNES classic isn't readily available anymore, which means a lot people will be playing those SNES games for the first time when they are released for NSO. It might be hard to believe but kids that were 8 when the SNES classic was released, and never got one, are now 10 and might be getting a Switch and their first Nintendo platform. That's a whole new audience for Nintendo to get new fans from.
For real? I need these!Nintendo is definitely doing three different SNES/SFC pairs for US, EU, and JP, right?
Not mine but I still want a set of these because the Pad II mic works.
Oh shoot, I forgot BOF2 was in this. Translation is bad, but I'd gladly take it over it just being first party stuff.
Hoping Twinbee is in that too. I don't know if they plan for a compilation or not...
Providing more value for your service at the same low price is pathetic, you heard it here first folks. The "carrot" is playing online games like Pokemon, thats the entire point. The old games are not what people outside of Era subscribe to it for.A lot of people called this. They would use SNES games as the carrot to get people to sub again for the second year.
Absolutely fucking pathetic and I really don't have much interest outside of a few games here and there
I thought they did? Capcom released it on Wii U and n3DS Virtual Consoles?Kinda wish Capcom & Square-Enix would settle whatever issue that's keeping Breath of Fire 1 in limbo.
Yea, I would probably get them if they're $39.99 plus shipping and handling. I really only need one, so I'm kind of just debating getting an NES classic refurb from Nintendo and using the controller with my 8BitDo adapter. I could also just get 8BitDo's $24.99 knock offs. But I like official Nintendo hardware.
I can only speak to the current gen 8bitdo controllers (snes and nes) but they are indistinguishable from official nintendo hardware imo. And wireless (with appropriate receiver) on the classic systems.
So we should expect to hear something within the next few weeks?
I own their latest SN30 Pro+ (G Classic) and I love it. I like their current take on the NES controller, the one with the turbo buttons. And I'm tempted because it's only $25, but Nostalgia wants the official NES. I love using my SNES classic controller with the 8BitDo adapter.
Awesome! How's the dpad on that + version?
I have the NES one with the two turbo buttons, works wonderfully well for Contra, haven't used turbo buttons since the NES Max controller in 1990 lol.
Ah, I forgot.Except F-Zero is a single-player game. You remember that, right?
I thought they did? Capcom released it on Wii U and n3DS Virtual Consoles?
Well, it probably more comes down to Nintendo doing the licensing work really. It generally did on Virtual Console too, at least for their own platforms.Still interested to see if Contra 3 makes the launch lineup now that Konami's re-released it elsewhere.
It did. That being said, there's no guarantee that whatever agreement Capcom and Square made was a one-time fix. It's possible Capcom needs Square to sign off any time they re-release that version of the game. Not an impossibility, of course, but it would mean that Capcom would be more likely to throw BoF2 at a launch lineup just since it's easier for them to release.
Also, on the point of Square preferring mobile or other re-releases (and not supporting the NSO as of yet), I can honestly deal with them hoarding stuff like the Final Fantasies for higher-priced releases if they'd just be like Capcom and Konami and let their lesser known stuff show up on services like this. Like, you aren't going to remake Secret of Evermore or 7th Saga or most of the Taito catalog any time soon. Give them another life on platforms like this.
Except F-Zero is a single-player game. You remember that, right?
Lol

You misspelled Oracle duologyNow a whole new generation can see how much better Link's Awakening is than ALTTP!
But neither of them are playable on Switch....
