Oh god damn it. I really hope, if true, these women are able to get the justice and closure they deserve. This is my favorite author, by a wide mile, but if he's ultimately proven to be a creep, then I hope the punishment is fitting for what he's done to the victims.
People are human, so ya. Everyone can be a piece of shit now and then. Some times with malice intent other times less so.
The video states that these two women have never met before but are saying similar allegations and both had relationships with Gaiman. Not good.
They also state that one woman came forward, causing them to investigate, which then led them to another woman.
That's a big fucking shame if true. Damn it, Neil. Even if it had been consensual, you should've known better than going after people young enough to be your child or grandchild, jfc.
Even if everything was consensual, the implication is he deliberately employed fans in their late teens/early twenties as babysitters to get it on with them? That's, eh, not a good look...
This sucks. Obviously it's all "alleged" but even if it was consensual, both situations sound pretty scummy anyway.
Yeah. Even if it was consensual, immediately sexually approaching the 23 year old nanny you hired just moments after she arrived in the country is... ugh.
I think the allegations are true and I believe the women but I watched the video and this appears that this is being used to promote a podcast?????? Again I think this is true but using real sexual assault allegations to promote your podcast is weird as hell to me.
If this is verified then I'll take it extremely seriously but yeah I would like to see at least one other reputable outlet run this story
If true, that's very disappointing and shameful to put it lightly. At best, the age gaps and power imbalance issues are obvious, so that's already troubling.
I'd need to listen to the podcasts in full (or read other detailed reporting) to make up my mind about the particulars. Conceptually, it's an inherently difficult and complicated subject, because assault can definitely happen even in the context of an otherwise consensual relationship, both before and after consent was given for other actions.

What is Tortoise? Are they actual journalists? I legit have never heard of that organization or company before.
Have any reputable news organizations of note picked up on this story? Are they reporting basically the same thing?
