Screw the PS4. You should be asking why your cat felt the need to do this. Was he angry? Was there too much unspent energy? Was he trying to get your attention because he needed some love?
My cat wakes in up the middle of the night and goes insane. She jumps on the curtains, bats around anything that will make noise, knocks shit over.
This is a regular thing, but she'd always stay away from the electronics.

Also, I'm putting it through a little stress test right now, and the rear fan seems to be working. (is there only one?)
Intake fans, it's hard to say.

So.. maybe she fixed it?

  1. how did your cat knock it on to the ground? did you have it vertical?
  2. why would you have it vertical when you have a cat?
  3. if it wasnt vertical how big is your cat?
  4. why no photos of said cat?
  5. I hear PS5 is out next year so not that long of a wait to replace it

Congratulations. Your cat is a certified PS4 repairman.

Hah, yeah, better get it checked, OP. There is a chance those fans aren't running anymore, or not fast enough to keep it cool.

Well it's probably a bit ashamed. Wait an hour or two and it'll start meowing again.

It could have dislodged something that was stuck. That or broken the fan, I would check to make sure.

1. Yes
2. Having it lay flat is awkward with my current setup
3. For a full-grown cat, shes tiny. We rescued her and had to bottle feed her when she was weeks old. I'm sure that's why.
4. Lazy
5. Hopefully my PS4 will hold on long enough.

Well my 2 year old son did the same thing, but it didn't help. Might try the cat thing as I have some of those furrballs roaming my house.

You can't make a cat thread without cat photos OP.

We'll wait.

Double check your fan if its still spinning. Could have just dislodged a clog of dust from a vent, or your fan may be running slower (resulting in higher temps) after the drop.

My PS4 Pro sounds like my PC when my GPU is overclocked at 80%+ fan speed...

I've had a Pro for 2 weeks now, and it's been silent the whole time. I've had marathon sessions. No noise. Should I be worried or have I been blessed by Cerny?
