I wonder if they will announce a Japanese acquisition at TGS tomorrow. I'm betting on Sega.

Laws would prohibit that
Wouldn't the reception be horrible if this was announced in a japanese event lol?

I want to say yes, but they'd put themselves in a really bad spot financially. Realistically they could become majority stakeholders via hostile takeover, but I don't see the value.
Pretty sure Japan now has a law preventing this. Sony is a protected company from foreign acquisition.
I think he's talking about Sony in total. If they'd be willing to sell only their games division, sure.
Not sure why they'd do that, being the market leaders.
Imagine the merchandise milage Era would have.Lmao at the comments thinking this place made up the word "moneyhat"
They have the money, but I don't think they would really want to from an overall business standpoint. They wouldn't just be buying a video game company, they would be buying a foreign tech company that is also in charge of several movie studios, among other things. It's a lot to absorb.
Nah, it's harder to buy JP companies but not impossible. That said MS won't be buying Sony that's absurd.Pretty sure Japan now has a law preventing this. Sony is a protected company from foreign acquisition.
