Earthbound, some of the Dragon Quest games and Undertale all let you explore the world and see how your actions changed things, it's great.

Mass Effect 1. Everything from Virmire on was absolute gold.
Mass+Effect+1+image.png

Talk with Sovereign and Vergil, pushing through a Geth blockade, climbing up the side of the Citadel with Sovereign visually above you, and Faunts closing the game out.

Absolutely impeccable.
My favourite ending to a game ever.

I still have no clue what that ship is in the background but you cannot see this ending and not feel like this was YOUR victory. Regardless the music and sheer optimism of this ending sells it, even if you thought Mass Effect 1 was boring 90% of the time.

And recently: SOMA

The image gives you no context, but let me tell you, when you're done playing it and you get to this your jaw will also be on the floor.

Nier: Automata, nuff said.

Also really liked P4G after the timeskip along with Mass Effect 1's.

This thread seems custom made for spoilers, but I'll try to jeep them to a minimum:

1. Silent Hill 2 - I know this an odd choice because the game has multiple endings and almost all of them are bittersweet and/ or depressing, but there's one ending that was extremely bold at the time and thematically appropriate so I give it a lot of credit.

2. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 2 & 3 - If you like extended JRPG endings with tons of fan-service and feel good moments, these games are for you. Hell, the whole series tends to do endings right.

3. Shadow of the Colossus - This was amazing at the time.

4. - KotOR (dark side ending), Baldur's Gate 2, Alpha Protocol, certain Dragon Age games, certain Suikoden games, Dragon Age 8, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Deus Ex 2 - Really, anything that lets you embrace your power fantasy and lets you become a God King/ Queen or build your own empire. Silly stuff, but it's incredibly fun and cathartic.

Agreed with Nier Automata. Okami is also at the top for me though I realize many probably never made it all the way... Amd Witcher 3's endings are excellent as well.

The ending of God of War 2. You knew shit will get real in part 3 and oh boy, it got so REAL.
The secret ending of God of War 2018 is also pure hype.

MGS3 and FFX are my favorite game endings of all time. I also really love Dragon Age: Inquisition's, assuming we count the last 20 or so minutes of Trespasser as such. :P

FFVI for sure, couple others here that have already been mentioned.

One that surprised the hell out of me - Lego City Undercover. Orbital skydive. It's more the end sequence + ending, but you'd have to be really bad to die.

Mario Odyssey's ending sequence blew me away and felt like the most fun 3D Mario has ever had with an ending. It was glorious.

Persona 4 Golden. I still get emotional thinking about it. Felt like I said goodbye to some of the closest friends I had.

Nvm we're talking about ending sequence , not the best ending . So it should be Nier Automata

While the original Luigi's Mansion is an older game with a limited scope, I always loved Luigi's reaction to saving Mario from being stuck in a portrait.

I know I'm most likely in the minority here, but I really liked ME: Andromeda's ending sequence. The final assault, the final battle, and a fairly meaty post-game epilogue that set up further content (*grumble* which will most likely never happen *grumble*) and an even greater mystery were all great and still resonates with me.

Anyone not thinking Chrono Trigger didn't play Chrono Trigger.

ALBW's ending sequence blew me away personally. It's not a story-focused game, and one of the "reveals" is long-anticipated, but a couple of the other happenings plus the sheer emotion behind it all make it my favorite Zelda ending by a huge margin.

Shadow of the Colossus. Seeing your goal fulfilled and how it presumably leads to Ico was pretty mind blowin

Persona 5's ending was the first time in a while I just sat there after the credits rolled thinking about everything that happened.

Same, I felt genuinely bummed that I was done with those characters and that there was no more new adventures.

The original Kingdom Hearts. Even though it ended on a cliffhanger, the ending sequence and credits is still memorable to this day for me years later. I can even still hear the music.
