It's gotta be Kratos, the thread is basically full of his pictures and the level of detail in-game is just absurd.
Although, Capcom's RE Engine has been putting some work since Resident Evil 7, which has gotten even better with its new releases. It's a insane amount of quality, even more considering performance with DMCV:
The top picture has to be, a) real photo or b) high quality CG.
Man I love this game so much, it looks perfect. Its uncanny
Oh wow. I had no clue one of the Yakuza games had Takeshi Kitano in it. Im off to do some research on that.Considering they're essentially budget titles, the faces in Yakuza games are really good.
Rise of the Tomb Raider had this weird thing where sometimes Lara's head looked like it animated or mocaped then stitched onto her shoulders. There was something going on there.
Man how has this thread made it to 70 posts without mention of DMC5?

Pre-rendered:
Wow didn't know that. That validates my current low opinion of fighters like Tekken and Soul Calibur if they can't even match a similarly 60fps action game. They look last gen to me, except with lots more polys.
Yakuza is not a budget title lolConsidering they're essentially budget titles, the faces in Yakuza games are really good.
+1Detroit impressed me the most with its models, best model is Luther or Connor.
Yakuza is not a budget title lol
Senran Kagura is a budget title
Dude Yakuza games are not budget titles like a budget title doesn't look or play as good any Yakuza. Senran Kagura is the perfect example of a budget title.Relative to most of the titles being discussed in this topic, Yakuza is assuredly more of a budget title. Significantly. Not sure why Senran Kagura is relevant.
Yeah, that was a terrible excuse from the beginning. The character models look so dated in Tekken 7 and especially Soul Calibur 6 not because 60fps games can't do high quality polygon models, but because Bandai Namco simply didn't want to put in the time, money and effort to create high quality character models from scratch. In Soul Calibur 6 they simply reuse in part 10 year old assets for the base body models and weapons, ripped straight out of SC4 and SC5.
He's in Yakuza 6, which was released earlier this year.Oh wow. I had no clue one of the Yakuza games had Takeshi Kitano in it. Im off to do some research on that.
Have to see her in the actual game but she looks by far the most detailed and realistic of anything posted in here.
Materials and lighting are still really top tier in The Order. Very few games better it even today, even if pure poly counts might.
Running at a solid 60fps with rollback tech on the netcode is going to limit you heavily, i doubt even Naughty Dog could do that much better than Tekken 7 visually. Maybe better facial animations in the cutscenes though (Injustice has good ones, but they drop the framerate to 30fps), but gameplay not so much.Yeah, that was a terrible excuse from the beginning. Came to post this. Those feathers and the animation... I've never so credibly felt the presence of an animated being.
