it's not like he was saying anything new lolWell, this is where people really are going for impressions. The importance of the old "review" style is dead for a reason
yeh, that's rough. I'm sure those type of deals aren't cheap.God Xbox has the worst luck : Fallout 76, Battlefield V and now this.
All online-focused games. I think that's a mistake. If they don't 'hit' then there's no pull to them.God Xbox has the worst luck : Fallout 76, Battlefield V and now this.
If that were the case, why does he care?.Well, this is where people really are going for impressions. The importance of the old "review" style is dead for a reason
I don't think that'll stop people on an internet forum, the true bastion of antiquity
curious: how does the game teach that mechanic?
It's not hidden in some menu system like a codex waiting for the player to hunt it out, is it?
Crackdown 3, Jump Force, Fallout 76 and Anthem were all big part of their last e3 media briefing.Well, they had a marketing deal with Fallout 76, and then Anthem. They sure know how to pick 'em.
Well Crackdown 3 might be a mediocre game but it´s at least an honest game. Unlike the stuff EA puts out these days, which comes closer to an interactive storefront than an actual videogame.Because their most recent exclusive isn't even worth defending.
Developers getting bonuses based on review scores should never be a thought that crosses a reviewer's mind.
Does he work for EA? Why is he of all people mad at reviews of a multiplatform game?
It's almost like Xbox spent a lot on the marketing rights to a mediocre game and he's doing whatever he can to discredit the apparently deserved middling reviews
"The game does not tell you"
If a game can't communicate it's systems then that's a failure on the game.
And all of them moneyhatted by EA.He also said people should be using "modern reviews" like watching streamers.
Why do you feel bad for him?I feel bad for the guy, Anthem and Crackdown 3 are the big Xbox games to push for this quarter and they are both mediocre, but you have to defend them anyway. What a cringe watch.
Theres a difference between reading tutorials and shoving important info on a tutorial menu. How is one supposed to know that a mechanic exists when the game gives no direct explanation for it?
The same reason people here have trashed IGN and had reviews removed for the reviewer not fully experiencing or playing a game. If you're reviewing, you should invest the time and effort to fully learn and educate yourself on a game before you guve it a score. Especially since some developers get bonuses based on scores, and an improper score can lead to missed sales.
