I have no doubt whatsoever X0 will be deliver in a big way and my hype hasn't diminished even a little bit.
I understand what you're saying, but the lack of information from Microsoft allows those environments to exist. If they had a press release with a few bullet points, detailing what to expect, it wouldn't allow people to come up with ridiculous expectations. From what I've been witnessing Microsoft haven't been overhyping anything, it's individuals letting their imaginations run wild.
They confirmed there will be a press release of what to expect early next week on Xbox Wire on a podcast.I understand what you're saying, but the lack of information from Microsoft allows those environments to exist. Even that Samaritan Unreal engine demo could turn into a pretty cool game, I think.
I do wonder if they will just extend the existing Xbox App on PC to handle installation and launching as well. MSFT has to know by now that they can't stick with the Windows Store if they want to make any real headway on PC. Even if they fix most of the problems they'll have a hard time changing the perception of it.
When it comes to selling, the only thing that matters is who is going to offer the most money. Everything else becomes secondary.
The fact that we're still here arguing over the format of X018 and the weight of announcements shows that the upcoming information regarding the "Show" side of things can't come soon enough.
All we can do is base our expectations off of what we already know:
This isn't including any of the speculation or announcements from MS 1st party, or insiders, about their presence at the conference. I think it's safe to say nobody should be worrying about whether X018 should be good, but can easily speculate as to whether it'll be great (my opinion: Yes.).
- Phil Spencer said to reference previous X0s to gauge the type of announcements that might be made.
- Phil also said they've been waiting for the right reasons to bring the event back, and that now is the perfect time.
- Insiders/press are indicating that, based on what they're hearing, the show will be bigger and better than their initial expectations.
- Obsidian will likely be announced.
- Other acquisitions may be announced.
- Phil said there will be a strong 1st party presence, as well as 3rd party.
- New Xbox BC titles will be announced.
- Kb&M support will be shown, including titles.
Wholeheartedly agree. Would love to see that game realized, as well as Shangheist at some point.
They've already built so much functionality into the Xbox app, I wouldn't be surprised if they shift the game store and xStream/Game Pass over.
I'd disagree. Relationship and support services, tools, and expectations of the studio are all huge factors that can outweigh money, especially if the studio is owned privately.
Klobrille's post wasn't to say those would be the only things at the show, just what he was most confident in.
So, I used to brag about how silent my XB1X is especially when compared to my PS4 Pro. However, with Forza Horizon 4 and now RDR 2, my X is getting loud as fuck ... like almost PS4 Pro levels of loud. Anyone else experiencing this? Are these games just pushing my system so much harder that it sounds like it wants to die?
YES! Last night playing Red Dead I was like "do....I need to be worried?"So, I used to brag about how silent my XB1X is especially when compared to my PS4 Pro. Yep. My X was quiet all year, then it started getting loud with all the fall games. Destiny 2, Forza and Red Dead all make the fans rev up. My guess is the developers are using more power requiring more cooling to kick in.So, I used to brag about how silent my XB1X is especially when compared to my PS4 Pro. Families and young people will more than likely choose Xbox over PlayStation, I believe, unless Sony does something to match Game Pass, which I don't think they will.
I don't see Sony matching that value, and therein lies huge potential for Microsoft to hit the ground running in unprecedented ways.
MS is bold enough to have a guy like Nadella lead the company as CEO, which turned their entire profit/revenue margins around, but somehow Phil Spencer still has a job when their gaming division has been at a standstill for the past 3 years, and Spencer has done next to nothing to alleviate the lack of new IPs since he came on-board.Phil hasn't done a ... and one more thing in years. Now is the time for that one more thing.
Cyberpunk was basically a one more thing at E3.Phil hasn't done a ... and one more thing in years. Now is the time for that one more thing.
Did you copy and paste that post from 2017? I'm not sure whether it's ignorance, denial, or just plain trolling.MS is bold enough to have a guy like Nadella lead the company as CEO, which turned their entire profit/revenue margins around, but somehow Phil Spencer still has a job when their gaming division has been at a standstill for the past 3 years, and Spencer has done next to nothing to alleviate the lack of new IPs since he came on-board.
I miss the early years of the 360, when MS seemed unstoppable and were working closely with all sorts of devs to ensure a quality gaming experience on their console. I can't understand how people have invested $500 for the OneX and all they have to look forward to is Crackdown 3 and another half-assed Gears...and I don't think MS has anything hidden up their sleeves.
Even though it wasn't an exclusive, Cyberpunk 2077 was absolutely a one more thing announcement this E3.Phil hasn't done a ... and one more thing in years. Now is the time for that one more thing.

Did you time travel to a year ago from the past? 2018 has absolutely proved that Phil is worthy of his position.MS is bold enough to have a guy like Nadella lead the company as CEO, which turned their entire profit/revenue margins around, but somehow Phil Spencer still has a job when their gaming division has been at a standstill for the past 3 years, and Spencer has done next to nothing to alleviate the lack of new IPs since he came on-board.

What, are you celebrating Sea of Thieves and yet another Forza game because this time it has native 4k?
Naw. You are at least 2 years off
What, are you celebrating Sea of Thieves and yet another Forza game because this time it has native 4k?
Or are we classifying unreleased multiplatform games (Cyberpunk) without announced platforms (this gen or next?) as exclusives now?
After playing Gears 4 and laughing at the DeeBee AI, I knew exactly how MS was going to play out this gen. They played their fanbase too but that's really not my concern - the software is.
The thing is. Sony is already chancing PSnow to be more like gamepass. You pay monthly fee and you can download games or stream them. It is not on the level of gamepass and it isn't avaible everywhere, but they are not standing idle.
Besides Sony has other things to use against Microsoft when next generation comes. Easiest way to get people who bought PS4 to also buy PS5 is to offer them BC at launch. Play all your PS4 games on PS5 and just keep advertising that. Masses who bought PS4 will go and buy PS5.
Also masses have no freaking idea about how many or how skilled studios Microsoft have bought. They need to see those games. They have already seen great games on PS4 and now they are getting sequels to them on PS5 launch.
There is many things to consider when next gen launches and we are going to see tighter competion than this generation.
As in you think it's coming 2021? They're setting out to make a AAA open world RPG and don't have a Director, Audio Designer, World Designer, Technical Director, many senior level positions staffed... It's four or five years off and it'll be a while before they have anything to show.
Oh, I'm sorry. I should act like I'm part of Microsoft's HR department and start listing studios they've acquired without any announcements regarding games being made whatsoever. This posts show that you have no clue what happened the last 6 months with MS internally and what happened after that. So i am not even gonna bother responding on some weird hot takes like Forza Horizon being 4K or something.
Scarlett launching with Halo, Forza, Killer Instinct and whatever else on Game Pass compared to Sony offering a PS5 with a packaged game or two aren't comparable valuable propositions for hyped up prospective buyers coming into next gen. To me, the advantages are obvious, but like I told Aokiji, I am going to leave it to time to tell.
Phil already teased that they are working on something and it has been known for 2 years that Playground was making an RPG. It's coming in 2020 or 2021. My guess is 2020 as a next gen crossover title along with Halo Infinite. This is the studio that has cranked out 2 of the best racing games of all time in 4 years. I suspect the RPG will be a 3-4 year dev cycle and I think this game was pretty well in the works in 2017.As in you think it's coming 2021? Oh, I'm sorry. I should act like I'm part of Microsoft's HR department and start listing studios they've acquired without any announcements regarding games being made whatsoever.
After all, it takes magic and pixie dust to make these games, right? One will be ready in 2 to 3 years if MS prays hard enough. :)
It's the fact you said their gaming division is at a standstill when there are many changes that have happened over the past year that prove it's the opposite.Oh, I'm sorry. I wasn't sure before, but now I am with this ^^^ post. Reset needs to include a drug test to be a member of these here forums, here... Let's say PS5 comes or close to launch with God of War 2, HZD 2 and Spider-Man 2 (not expecting it). That is pretty big lineup and people already know they loved the first ones, why not go with the console what offers sequels to them.
PS5 playing PS4 games could be huge for masses. That family with PS4 library can keep playing those games on PS5 right from launch. That is pretty much no brainer for them over gamepass.
Dont get why people think sony will do that... they havent shown any big interest for consumer friendly features like BC so far.Let's say PS5 comes or close to launch with God of War 2, HZD 2 and Spider-Man 2 (not expecting it).
