Amazon starting to being tight on Switch supply. The Neon SKU is out of stock for the next 4/5 days. Grey SKU is available.
Ah yes, i forgot that Media Create is the only tracker who spilts between hardware models, thats a good thing to have indeed. The other things are good too.I edited my previous post with other info, coping here again:
Media create advantages are Amazon.jp sales, Hardware SKUs sales are separated (ex: 2DS, 3DS XL, New 3DS), is used by the main publishers (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft), they share exactly sell-through for big games (not always), Famitsu is a range between 20% which is big, Dengeki rounds to the closer 0 or 5, while MC is exactly when they do.
No problem :) If there are examples that shows that Dengeki has overtracked, then its a way to tell for sure. I was just curious if there was any way to know for sure, and if it was a more common thing for Dengeki compared to Media Create and Famitsu.Regarding the overtracked sales (or undertracked) I remember a few cases but I will need to check and I can't now.
A latest game that I remember would be FFXV. According to Famitsu and MC the first shipment of the game was around 1.050k for Famitsu and 1.070k for MC.
However Dengeki's first shipment for this games was 1.170k, so 100k higher than the others, which is a big difference.
We don't have exactly shipped number from Square in Japan, so it might be that the ones wrong are Famitsu and MC. So, the the truth is that this example doesn't prove anything, just assuming.
Bigbossalute.gifThis was the week that marked officially 3DS' death.
No game in Dengeki top 50
No game in Famitsu top 30
No game in Media Create top 30 (but US/UM should be in top 50.
its 250k in Japan for an Ace Combat game really that bad? Honest question.Ace Combat looks headed for flop status. A shame they totally nerfed multiplayer that prior games had.
I said in the last page that I was wrong for questioning these sales.its 250k in Japan for an Ace Combat game really that bad? Honest question.
oh my b didnt read the whole thread yet lol.I said in the last page that I was wrong for questioning these sales.
It's all good. I was totally wrong, is all you need to know.
There aren't really any Mario flops. Tipping Stars is a game that had underperformed before but it was a budget release and almost nothing was lost from retailers.
Btw, Tales of Vesperia for Switch has finally being restocked (not fully but a considerable amount).
Somebody please count the days it took.
this is Bamco, not Square Enix351/13 days
That would male a nice spin-off title for a sequel as well.
Fair enough. Still, can it get there? Is it the sort of game that can keep on selling 10k-20k per week in the following months?
With Apex being the next big WW hit are there any indications Japanese gamers are playing it? Anybody have a Japanese psn account? Maybe you could check the number of ratings it has on the store..
I haven't heard anyone talking about it so far (not to say it won't catch fire later).
Worldwide hits sometimes fly right by Japan.
Like Fortnight is a big hit here but PUBG, not so much.
Japan is weird.
Yes, its Capcom platinum listing has been updated http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/finance/million.html#rank02_area , it's at no. 17 now, just above Street Fighter V now (2.9 million)MHXX on switch shipped 1.2M units.

That says more about the people that you hang out with than anything else. Like, I've never seen someone talk or play Fortnite in real life but that's because pretty much all of my video game friends I've known since high school where we played Counter-Strike Source and Team Fortress 2 and thus have no interest in Fortnite. However if I hung out with people who are more new to gaming or on the younger side then I'm sure I'd get an earful of the latest buzz on Fortnite. I'm intelligent enough to know that just because the people I hang out with aren't interested in something that doesn't mean that a ton of other people have different thoughts.Currently it is Fortnite > 荒野行動 > PUBG. Fortnite is a bit more popular with younger children and 荒野行動 seems to be more popular with young teens. I've never seen someone talk or play PUBG in real life - but this is simply my experience.

Whereas something like Niconico Douga which is so ingrained in the Japanese netizen culture is surely more representative than the people you know or the people I know. That's why I brought it up.
What is the middle game?Currently it is Fortnite > 荒野行動 > PUBG. Fortnite is a bit more popular with younger children and 荒野行動 seems to be more popular with young teens. I've never seen someone talk or play PUBG in real life - but this is simply my experience.

That's very optimist, I think the game is no longer slated for 2019.Yeah, a golden week ps4 price drop is happening I think. Not sure if it'll be permanent or another month or so promotion. I thought Granblue would be releasing in the summer but Cygames and Platinum splitting ways on it might mean it still has longer to go than I thought.

If they do another temporary cut I'll go crazy! It's time for a big permanent cut.Yeah, a golden week ps4 price drop is happening I think. If they put DQ 1-3 on the switch I think the Japanese Eshop might crash. It has to happen eventually.Nintendo eShop Sales: January 31st to February 6th 2019

I hope everyone is ready for another round of Monster Hunter discussion !(I am not really looking forward to it)
David Gibson is a well-known game reporter in Japan.
Announcement could happen as soon as the 15th anniversary event in March. Until then, grain of salt and everything.
Completely out of stock.
We'll get MH Stories... I mean, RE4 sold 2 million on the Wii, and what did we get? More RE on rails.Funny, I saw an unreliable leaker make the same tease (edit: just saw that that tweet was made 25 min after Gibson, so they're probably piggybacking). Capcom has said that they weren't done with Monster Hunter on Switch, so maybe we will see something this year? Maybe we see something during that 15th anniversary in March?
I'm ready for the flames lol
Even if the rumor is wrong, all hands won't be on a DLC/Expansion. Most of the staff should be already working on the sequel.Attention is on Iceborne. If anything they will announce a retail version of the expansion for Japan.

Capcom said a few months back that they want to have 2 big AAA games per fiscal year. Looking at what they shipped the past year, there is not a lot of options.
The age of True Media Create Thread is stalled... for now.Looks like Famitsu is still reporting Hardware, but they're now doing it in a separate post?
