It's the last couple weeks of the fiscal year with a major I.P. launching. I don't think 250k is outside the realm of possibility.

Japanese age demographics alone will make Pokemon Red/Green/Blue lifetime numbers pretty much impossible to hit for any game ever. There are over 15 million less people under 65 years old in Japan than there were in 1995. Game would need insane market penetration to hit 8 million.

Smaller retailers are also hinting at record sales for Animal Crossing. 1,5m+ physical opening must've happened, every big chain had a different special edition for this game.

We have gotten early reports on Monday and Thuesday before, but maybe all of them havnt been from Famitsu. I do know that Famitsu gave numbers for Pokemon Black/White on a Thuesday for example, but thats nearly 10 years ago, so things might have changed.

Well if Neptunia is done they don't have much else in terms of popular IP to work with, right? Varnir, Mary Skelter, that Arc Alchemist game... they've only had poor selling games other than that Azur Lane game (which is not their IP of course) from what I remember.
