Probably nothing. That shits been known and they hired her anyway. So I wonder how AEW handles Bea after this
NJPW probably wont do shit to Will unfortunately
Brandon Stroud is a predatory misogynist? LOL.
The hypocrisy is delicious.
Arguably his entire brand is built on being a woke, positive voice.
Damn, I would defend Jim Cornette all the time because I love the podcast, and while problematic at times I was on board with him 90% of the time. But if this is all confirmed true, and it seems more and more like it is. Going to be time to drop him from the listening list of podcasts.

Covering up for a friend and getting the accuser blacklisted I think.

What's the story here?Good, let it burn.
Hope Ospreay doesn't escape the fire yet again.
I literally had Owen's episode on as I saw this news and Cornette came in the screen. It was weird timing. You know Vince Russo must be loving this Cornette stuff.
Cornette should be getting his own Dark Side episode.
I book guests for a wrestling radio show, and shit like this makes me wary of coming off as too nice when communicating with female talent. I've made several friends after booking them, but there's a part of me analyzing everything I say to make sure I'm not saying something complimentary but coming off like a creep. Seriously, fuck Brandon Stroud.
That's what I do. I'm friendly with everyone. But they get it from all sides, as fans of women's wrestling can often be... unique.Just don't actively lust over them or ask if they want dick pics and you'll probably be fine.
In other words, treat them the exact same way as you do male talent.
AEW's handling of women re: tv times hasn't been the best apparently, so maybe that's why she didn't want to.I hope all these carnie creeps get outed and fired/blacklisted.
Also, and let me preface this by saying that I know of no actual evidence of anything nefarious happening, but I still think the whole Kylie Rae thing with AEW is super suspicious/sketchy. For those who don't know, AEW signed Kylie in early 2019 and, by all impressions, she seemed like she was going to be a star in the women's division. After her debut at Double or Nothing in May 2019 in what I believe was the women's main event match, she disappeared. She was booked for another match at that year's Fyter Fest, but was replaced and granted her release. Tony Kahn said the release was "amicable," but it never sat right with me. Like why would you sign with AEW for probably what was good money and most likely a big push, but then ask to be released from your contract in less than a year after having only like one actual match?
That was for Pollyanna, then when his tweets got backlash he quit Twitter for a while and waited for it to blow over, and then came back with a non-apology for everyone but her.
She had some sort of break down from what could be gleaned from posts when she returned to social media. AEW's women's handling hadn't even proven to be shit yet so I doubt it's that.AEW's handling of women re: tv times hasn't been the best apparently, so maybe that's why she didn't want to.
I've spent 15 years working in the adult entertainment industry and I know exactly what you mean. That's what I do. I'm friendly with everyone. But they get it from all sides, as fans of women's wrestling can often be... unique.

I understand the concern.
That's why I gave the advice I gave. It's easy to even say "you're so sexy" or the like and just mean it as a benign compliment. But since the have to deal with it from their fans, their agents, the other talent they work with, it can seem wrong.
Basically when working with talent I only comment on appearance when asked a direct question about it. Otherwise I leave it be.
I used to think the penis suplex was funny, but this "massive row" (love the phrasing OP) really had me thinking about it.I'm shocked, SHOCKED, that famous dick wrestler, Joey Ryan, whooping out his dick unsolicited.

Like, there aren't really a lot of jobs where you show up at a gig and someone tells you "you're grabbing your co-worker's penis tonight in front of a cheering crowd." Like I signed up to sports entertain people, "are you okay directly squeezing my genitals for a prolonged period of time" should never even enter the conversation.
Let's say you get booked on a show. The gimmick can and has gone viral so you're game. Maybe you don't even mind having to do it, but its kind of a wildly inappropriate thing to ask someone to do as part of a performance.
Even if it's done totally professionally and discounting the potential unspoken pressure and imbalance of power, which I don't know enough about the situation to comment on, it's probably time to put it in the bin.
I hadn't thought about the parallels between the two. Being in either I could completely understand being jaded about anyone being nice to you because you don't know if there are ulterior motives. Women probably face this... well probably their entire lives. I would be mortified if anyone took me being friendly as something insidious when I'm actually just trying to make friends/contacts.
Have you talked about your job on here before?
Like what times are you referring to? Do you believe cancel culture exists? Why do you believe saying something offensive shouldn't generate a negative reaction?A lot of times when someone SAYS something offensive and this forum calls for that person to be canceled, I usually roll my eyes and sigh.
But when someone DOES something really bad... That is a different situation entirely.
I had been listening to the drive thru and experience for a long time and even sent in questions to be read. Now? No thanks.
Seriously.Jeez British wrestling scene sounds like a complete danger zone for women.
I was down there at the time, Connie Swail was basically like a corrupted school girl from what I remember. I did get some vibes off him back then though I wasn't sure what they were, I don't know if he and Stacey were a thing back then. You know, thinking about it, the Cornette thing shouldn't come as a surprise. He always put forth that the best gimmicks were the personality of the person doing it amped up. Stacey "Synn" Cornette's gimmick in OVW was a gothy dominatrix (often with whips, collars, etc.) with a whole stable of "Disciples". Meanwhile, Jim's gimmick was always based on being a rich momma's boy.
I found a promo pic of her and two of her "Disciples" with a girl named "Connie Swail" (yes, probably named after the Dragnet movie character) on her hands and knees collared with Synn holding her chain. Having never heard of her I looked her up and found an interesting thread on wrestlingclassics.com where a poster mentioned that he used to talk with Damaja (Danny Basham) who said that " she won some type of contest to be able to be a valet along with Synn" but didn't know anymore details. Given what been said, eh...
Woah. Riddle choked her.
I think there will be a lot of wrestlers who haven't been outed extremely worried right now.
Hopefully this will encourage people to speak up throughout the industry and with a bit of luck it will go all the way up to Vince...
