More like the anime art style. Visual novels are still getting content change even with characters being of legal age, 18, with picture below being one example. A similar thing also happen with a college student.

I mean, I'm not wrong in thinking that the edited images are actually more suggestive than the original pics, right? Doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose?

really depends on the countries to be fair.

Sony is a WW company and the games are published on a WW platform.

Just like the porn industry is 18, even in countries with the age of consent at 16, games ethically should follow that lead with hyper-sexualized content or content which implies sexual intercourse.

I dont know why some of you are acting brand new when about that belly button because it is framed in a very suspicious way.

Also the 2nd pic looks like a druged underage girl that is being photographed without her consent.

Seriously, some of you always act in a way that makes me think that amir0x need some company in his cell.

Anything under 18 being highly sexualized should be a no-go. Irrespective of the age of consent being 16 in many countries.

There's a gulf between something like Life is Strange depicting teenage relationships, and some of the stuff put out in visual novels and the likes.
Age shouldn't be the only cut off line for these kind of things, especially with anime. The 18 girl in that picture isn't really any different from the other two, the theme being high school girls is enough of a red flag really.

No, it is more suggestive lol. And who ever did do the censoring probably had that in mind too. Same with this one:
Hell, at least since:

Agreed, as I always say intent matters and if you're stringing up girls in school uniform that look about 14~16 you shouldn't just be able to say "but 18" on a tiny info box.

I was speaking broadly about being ethical around hyper-sexualized content. Age of consent being 16 in many countries is more about protecting high-school students and accepting relationships usually start around then. It's not for men in their 20's/30's+ to be perving on them.

Games are entertainment, not a form of sex education. So anyone can miss me with any attempts at moralizing highly sexualizing middle-age teens as being appropriate because it's a school setting.

Honestly, they just need to move SK over to the switch and be done with it. Nintendo doesn't give a fuck. And switch is popular enough in all regions that you'd still get sales. Although the downside is Switch being less powerful than the PS4 means they couldn't push the visuals as much as I'm assuming they were hoping to.

When I see erotic PS4 themes on the store, I instantly imagine a small room full of crusty tissues and socks scattered about.

Guarantee if they start being the only company that allows the sexualization of minors, advocacy groups will come after them and force at least Nintendo of America to start censoring or outright rejecting this type of content.

It's pretty funny. That splish splash on the boom boom. But seriously, it's about time Sony gets this porny stuff off of their store.

Nintendo doesn't care and their own troubled history with censorship makes them unlikely to bend imo.

Advocacy groups will need to target the ESRB directly to get any real traction.

How many of these young girls are just 1000 year old dragons?

Anyways, why would the artist go out of his/hers way to show both their belly buttons? The shirt is strategically open just for it. That's just weird.

15, 17, 18, 10,000 years. Whatever. They all look like blow up dolls with baby heads.

If it's your thing, I'm cool with that. It's just drawings, after all. But it shouldn't be mixed in with the other stuff on a huge worldwide commercial platform like that. Steam is doing it like an adult section, which I think is also an appropriate action.

The edit is really bad tbh, what a poor job.

But yeah, this kind of content shouldn't be on the PSN if Sony's policies are against it, or be under an age-restricted section. I mean, this content has an specific target, censoring it will make the people who like it mad, and people who don't like it will find it too sexualized even after the editing. It's a bad decision, basically the sexy ninja whatever games need to be away of PS systems because there's no way they can deliver what the fans want within the new Sony policies.

Yikes... yeah i cannot get mad at the censorship. These games are heavily problematic and misogynistic that are made just for the objectification of women's bodies. If Sony wants to fight off that type of undesirable content from their platform, good. I also love seeing those alt-right shitbags crying about ''muh aneymay bewbs''.

really depends on the countries to be fair, the age of consent in japan is 13 >.>

I don't think that means that in practice that happens in Japan, from a really fast google search you can see stuff like "However, many prefectures also have local "corruption of minors" or "obscenity statutes" (ę·«č”Œę”ä¾‹) which raise the de-facto age of consent to 16-18, unless they are in a "sincere romantic relationship", usually determined by parental consent. For example, the effective age of consent in Tokyo by local statute is 18. The age of marriage is 16 for girls and 18 for boys with parental permission, and 20 otherwise (as stated in " ļ¾…ļ½½é‚ƒļ½¢ēŖ¶ę…Šļ½¶ēŖ¶ļ½¢ļ¾…ļ½øļ¾…ļ½½ļ¾†åœ?é‚ø", the Child Welfare Act of Japan."

Also it's kinda unrelated but damn it's sexist as fuck if girls can get married at 16 and boys at 18, it should be 18 for everyone what the hell. (Assuming this is true of course)

You are right but " ļ¾…ļ½½é‚ƒļ½¢ēŖ¶ę…Šļ½¶ēŖ¶ļ½¢ļ¾…ļ½øļ¾…ļ½½ļ¾†åœ?é‚ø" is mojibake text and not japanese (not obvious?) but according to google search it seems to be repeatedly copypasted lol.

Well, as I said I just did a quick search. I am no surprised about the copy pasting lol.

Pretty sure I just played this game yesterday

maxresdefault.jpg

R.-Mika-Street-Fighter-V.jpg.optimal.jpg
1) older game
2) girls who look clearly of age
3) they not only look of age but are of age (unlike Senran's girls who fluctuate between 14-17)
4) they're not wearing high school uniforms

The difference between the admitted sexualization in SF5 vs high school anime tit ninja simulator SK are several orders of magnitude different. Several!

Yeah, this about where I'm at.

I don't know anything about these games nor do I anime, but I'm all for people wanting to play it or look at it if it is there thing. Not an issue to me

What is impossible to defend is the sexualization of underage girls, though, even if they are cartoons.

THAT I really don't get, and I had no idea the games WERE that. Ooof.

Anime loves their high school girls. The entire industry is obsessed with them. Somehow a girl in college is just "too old" now.

You want to make an anime tit ninja game? Go ahead but do you have to have them in high school? Like I said, this is anime aimed squarely at otakus and the answer to that question is sadly a resounding: of course

Totally agree with you. It'd be cool if they just up and did a five year timeskip. There are already like ten characters who are 18 or older, but why not just nip this argument in the bud and bump 'em all up to there/higher? SK actually does have some decent writing in the main stories of the mainline titles (the character stories and spinoffs are mostly fluff ofc), so it'd be a natural and cool jumping off point for a new story. It's not as though they're trying to say something complex or interesting about underage sexuality, so why even keep standing on that hill other then the dumb principle of "they're fictitious so it's fine". The only reason they get away with it is the anime aesthetic and the exaggerated body proportions. If the game were identical but with realistically styled characters (like say, Ellie form TLOU) this series would have been crucified from inception.

With sony's new censor policy I get most of this. But is the naval sexual? What am I missing here?
I imagine they just went in extra hard so they don't risk having to resubmit more than once.
