The only thing that doesn't hold up in LOTR is the army of the dead and the ghost in the swamps.
Everything else is great.
In generally does though.
Practical effects always hold up better than CGI. The Hobbit films are a farce, in that sense. No idea what they were thinking. The effects in LOTR are better than the ones in The Hobbit movies.

Nah a lot of early 00s tv is still greatIt's the same way with TV. I was watching the IT Crowd a few days ago and I was shocked by how poorly the humor has aged.
That doesn't really disagree with my comment in any way.The effects in LOTR are better than the ones in The Hobbit movies.
I quite like X2, but I agree that X3 is terrible. The X-Men movies back then we're never good, so who cares if they aged poorly?
X-Men 3 is genuinely awful in particular.

Funny. Watching the Helm's Deep battle recently and I felt instantly bad for the generation that has to sit through the "battles" shown in the trailers of that Infinity War movie.
That's true and taking two movies and making it three probably added to the work load to get the thing finished.Agreed. Though to be fair, the Hobbit movies were rushed as all hell which was not the effects team's fault.
LOTR was way too long before the 1.5x time speed option was invented. Now with that option watching the movie is a breeze.

I love that movieDo you guys remember that Just Friends movie from 2005?
Complete garbage
Matrix - no
Harry Potter - yes
LOTR - no
POTC - ehhh
Spiderman - yes, not 2 though
X-Men- yes
Fast and Furious was about stealing VCRs. Talk about outdated!
Oh sure, a high number of subjective awards makes it an OBJECTIVELY good movie.
The original Matrix was 1997 and I think it holds up well as a dumb sci-fi action movie.
I'm not about to go on a diatribe on why the second and third films fail but they aren't good movies. This LotR bashing is upsetting me. I understand not liking arguably the greatest movie trilogy of all time, but saying it's bad as if it's fact? Nah
Fixed, thanks
Luckily it's only like 2 people in this thread with this negative opinion. This LotR bashing is upsetting me. I understand not liking arguably the greatest movie trilogy of all time, but saying it's bad as if it's fact? Nah
