Wanted to say 100000% this.I'll parrot in here what I say in every God of War thread: I'm someone with precisely zero affinity for the series and Kratos. God of War 2 was the only one of the bunch I enjoyed. I otherwise found every game sluggish with weak, unsatisfying combat and encounter design, a boring take on Greek mythology, and a miserable protagonist. God of War '18 is genuinely probably one of my favourite games ever. I enjoy almost every single thing about it immeasurably more than all of its predecessors combined, with exception of maybe the significant reduction in big boss fights.
Really, really fantastic ride. Eager for Ragnarok, even if it's got big shoes to fill.
The character moments are probably the best aspect of the game despite combat, production values, music etc. all being top-notch.
Game of the generation. Is it 60 FPS on PS5 yet? I got digital edition
Yeah. PS4 Pro had a performance mode that was around 40-50fps that is now locked 60fps on PS5.
1080p resolution though.
Did anyones ps4 sound like lawnmower when you tabbed to the map?

Yeah, performance mode is 1080/locked 60 because it's using the PS4 pro modes but actually able to hit the performance target.Wait what? So there already is a 60fps mode?? I was waiting for the patch after all the talk about the disc version being able to play 60fps without the updates and digital version not having 60 fps etcetc.

The digital foundry BC test showed off God of War running in it as well as a few other games.
Yeah.
I think the disc version has the fidelity mode with uncapped framerate in the 1.0 version which allows for 4k/60fps on PS5.
Last gen :PI think this a rare example of a game that gets better and better as it goes on. Easily one of the best games this gen.
So I am taking it that, as someone who played maybe half of gow1, it's still worth checking out? It's essentially at the bottom of my backlog now. I picked it up super cheap and am curious about it from word of mouth. But, the initial 3 games I didn't click with and the fact it's become a 30 hour rpgish thing worried me.
I also imagine I should probably watch a quick recap for the previous 3 games ?
I'm really looking forward to seeing how they utilize the dualsense.
Also waiting on a dualsense patch before I begin a second playthrough. Mad.
I was hoping we would get a proper ps5 patch but I kinda doubt it's happening now. Oh well.
Nah, 3 is still king - that is still the most epic action game ever made.
Was there not a patch recently to enable 60fps on ps5. Thought some favour performance mode was added.
Hopefully in the sequel in some formHe should have shot back with "What, you want to eat stale, tasteless bread?"
