Intentional or not, I just rested my hand on my arm like that and it's hella uncomfortable and not at all natural. So weird.
Are you stupid or just willfully dense? The reason why they use hand signals like this is for plausible deniability. It's so that gullible people (ie, yourself) end up ignoring or arguing in favor of it.
Terrorist groups, white supremacist groups etc all exhibit similar forms of behavior (gaslighting, plausible deniability etc) and use common symbols to quickly identify other members of their groups. This is all pretty basic stuff I learned in a brief period of my career to identify when spies or terrorists are attempting to infiltrate or recruit other people to their cause. It's not a conspiracy to say the alt-right has essentially adopted a bunch of common symbols in attempt to do the same thing. This isn't to say that everyone that uses the OK symbol is part of the group (which is entirely the intent) but rather you have to look at how someone behaves to figure out their true intent.
People are going to see what they see. You can whine about how you think it makes our side look all you want, but it's right there in front of your face. This whole line of thinking is yikes af. We need to be better than this.

Alrighty then.Let's end this back and forth on who is more conspiratorial, and move on to discussing the nomination hearing. Thank you.
I'm not saying she's part of a cabal, but that she could be flashing a sign in order to distract from cavanaugh and incite outrage from the left. Trolling.Ah yes she received a text message that must mean she's part of a secret white supremacist cabal
I was confused by the video because I was looking for a white woman. She looks kinda brown to me.
It doesn't actually matter because we allready know she's a white supremecist
Since I can't send you a private message:Let's end this back and forth on who is more conspiratorial, and move on to discussing the nomination hearing. Thank you.
No hard feelings here either. I defenitely deserve a warning at least for violating tos with an insult. I just felt you were insulting everyone first with this line:Since I can't send you a private message:
We just letting people call other people dipshits huh?
Whatever no hard feelings to Baji as long as it's consistent.
I ain't want to get you banned I just want shit to be consistent cause I know I don't have a leash long enough to get away with that right now is all.No hard feelings here either. I defenitely deserve a warning at least for violating tos with an insult. I just felt you were insulting everyone first with this line:
"Y'all sound like QAnon nuts and it's sad."
But yeah, warning, short ban, whatever I'll take it.
You'd think with all the other cases of neo-nazi numerology and coded signals people wouldn't be so quick to dismiss. The same group that works in 14 (for 14 words), pepe, and 88 (shorthand hiel hitler) as low key signals to other white supremacists would try to implant it to their audience on TV. I guess it's the same people arguing racism doesn't actually exist unless there is a cross burning or a black man in a noose.
Honestly pointing something out as an alt right troll does not make people crazy. Y'all seriously can fuck off with that.
First it was "she didn't do it on purpose" and now it's "ok but it doesn't really mean anything"
Nobody said she got the alert from some "secret cabal" of KKK grand wizards or what the fuck ever.
Is it so hard to believe that
1. She did it on purpose
2. The sign reflects alt right association
3. It's troublesome that this person has already been influential in federal policy.
That's it! It's literally not a leap or conspiracy theorizing. Nobody is saying this woman is the devil or in the Illuminati. We're saying either she or someone she's close with is associated with these online communities. And these communities could be described as white supremacist.
That's reasonable. Well, we're still both here so maybe we should both shut up about it and not push our luck, lol.I ain't want to get you banned I just want shit to be consistent cause I know I don't have a leash long enough to get away with that right now is all.
Whatever as long as discussion gets back to the hearings.
The "ok sign is a white supremacist dog whistle!" is absolutely something propagated by alt-righters as a means to troll the media.
Buzzfeed News nicely summarized the (successful) effort back in 2017:

Works for Miller (who himself parnered with Richard Spencer), worked on the Muslim ban and Trump immigration policy.
She's clearly working on a white supremacy agenda and loved the proceedings, smirking numerous times as Dems tried to somehow stop the inevitable confirmation.Works for Miller (who himself parnered with Richard Spencer), worked on the Muslim ban and Trump immigration policy.

Don't get the point of obsessing over this weird gesture crap when you got the president of the United States one ambien tweet away from using the n word.
But that's why she did it. A person who we don't have very good reason to believe is a white supremacist can do it and it's fine.Sure, or she could be signing the word for "asshole" or trolling with that dumb circle game.
The way that the media, and left wing commentators, fell - and fall - into delegitimization attempts should be concerning. People in this thread accepted that the "okay" sign was an actual sign of white supremacy without any investigation into the premise.
Given that, I'm sure the campaign to adopt the peace sign as a white power symbol is going to go equally as well.
There's not much else to attack beyond what they've done unless someone leaks something, which is very possible.I hope the Dem judiciary committee members are planning the next attack strategy for tomorrow. Do not relent on these fascist assholes.

For you democrats are too civil crowd, it doesn't matter what dems says.
Republicans would just say that Kavanaugh's confirmation is honoring John McCain and every single Dem would storm in and line up.Any chance dems could not show up so republicans don't have a quorum and therefore can't actually take a vote? I know they have the votes but I thought I read somewhere they still need like 10-15 dems to be present during roll call or something to have a quorum?
Fucking lolRepublicans would just say that Kavanaugh's confirmation is honoring John McCain and every single Dem would storm in and line up.
Yes, however, the senate could request a vote requesting the absent senators to attend a future session. If they do not attend that session the senate can vote to have them essentially arrested and brought to the senate floor.Any chance dems could not show up so republicans don't have a quorum and therefore can't actually take a vote? The way this works if they get properI'm fairly surprised that there are people who still don't think the okay sign is used in alt-right circles. Yes, it's stupid and yes, it's done to give both plausible deniability and push forth the premise that it's such an absurd notion that the left must be crazy to believe it. But how many times does it need to show up in alt-right groups in literally every level of government before people at least admit it's a thing? The signal obviously started as a means to troll media, but through repeated use over the last two years, the concept it mocks became a reality. Once again, if the only people using the symbol around political events and figures are people who align with the alt-right, then it is an alt-right symbol. I also was ready to say today's example was genuinely not meant to be the sign, but really the video makes it kind of clear. It's reasonable to call it bait or a non-issue, but don't say it isn't done on purpose. Interestingly, though Trump does it like 5 times a conversation while talking I think in his case it's simply that he can't help but do random things with his hands while speaking because he's a moron.
That said, today it's noise in the face of a possible future of incredibly regressive polices being enacted by a new supreme court. I'm sure /pol/ couldn't be happier that a segment of news cycle time is being cannibalized today due to Bash.
How many democrats will vote for him? Probably some swing states right?
I don't dip my head into US politics often, but I seen this had gone viral on Twitter
Not too sure who this woman is but maybe some of you need to chill it with conspiratorial thinking? Not long ago we had this on here

Sane Americans, adopting Alex Jones like thinking isn't going to help you turn your country around, please don't engage in it.

She works for the insane bigot Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton. We already know she's a racist piece of shit regardless of her intent and she deserves zero benefit of the doubt.
Every single person who remains in the Republican party is factually a piece of shit and is at minimum okay with fascism as long as it serves their interests. They deserve no sympathy, mercy, or understanding. She might be many things but this is "every okay looking symbol = Nazi" part 2. Engage in speaking factually, when there is credible evidence, not engaging in something that would be on the Alex Jones show.

"Out of all the things you should be legitimately concerned about regarding the Senate confirmation hearings in Washington, DC, today for Judge Kavanaugh," he wrote, "handshakes and handsigns ought not be among them. Actual serious constitutional issues are at stake."

So you think fascists do deserve sympathy?oh good lord. some of this rethoric has gotten completely out of hand.

youre welcome to . I have very low tolerance or patience for ppl with no understanding of the other side either. You dont think the other side is worth listening to . I dont think your words have that much worth either. I value level minded ppl not extreme pploh I'm sorry this doesn't fit your "both sides are a little good and a little bad" narrative but the truth is undeniable.
just read up on ishan's post history, honestly might the first poster to go on my ignore list.
